Currently Wunstorf at the big lake
"Steinhuder Meer", which is located near the city of Hannover, is the homebase of the A400M of German Air Force.
25 examples were delivered and 55 were ordered totally.
Last week it was announced that a second base will be prepared for the A400M in Lechfeld south of Augsburg in Bavaria.
From 2025 13 A400M will be part of this airbase.

Today i red that 170 mio € will be invested for the Lechfeld Airbase.
600 jobs will be created. At least 10x A400M will be based there. The final construction stage for the second A400M base will be finished in 2028.
The A400M in Lechfeld will be used also by multinational partners of the Bundeswehr.
Currently 34 x A400M are based in Wunstorf near Hannover.
