Thanks everyone. I'll need to re-jig a couple of models to get the Omani configurations and get then them to Ray. I would suggest Pete does the scenery conversion as suggested, pending something in more detail from Tim, if he still wants to do that, when he gets the opportunity.

I haven't gone into the full weapon fits but they got 12 a/c. 9x FGR4 and 3x T4, yes all with the PIRATE.

I have found an article that says that they will be will maintain its aircraft in the same configuration as the UK, using the same weapons and systems wherever possible.
I have not been able, so far, find any confirmation that they bought ASRAAM rather than IRIS-T like the rest of the oversees buyers.
So id somebody can find an article that says that they have purchased them then standard RAF aircraft seem to be good. If not IRIS-T aircraft with PIRATE seems appropriate.

Do you happen to know what they will be getting?

I'll create two new models then for now:

- Single seat-Pirate-1tank-no weapons.

- Two seat-Pirate-2 tanks-no weapons.

Users can switch in the existing armed models when needed at a later stage.

I’ll have a look at it today and see what’s involved, and what resources are available. It may be that a conversion of the existing scenery is the best we can do for the moment - but at least it exists! The conversion from FS9 to FSX/P3D is straightforward. If Pete’s happy to do that, I’ll first look at making some basic AFCADs for the other uncovered Omani airfields so the Tiffies have somewhere to go!

The file I have for OOAD is an FSX ADE file, I'm not sure if Dale ever released it in FS9 format. I no longer have FS9 on my PC's so would be unable to Backward convert to FS9.

I can convert it to FS9 if you send me the FSX file ;-)

Ok, I've found Dale's OOAD (FSXNBAIRAFOTyphoon.zip at Flightsim.com). It is, as you say FSX. It's just a basic ADEX airfield layout and, as such it should work perfectly well in P3D. Not sure about the conversion to FS9, but I'll let TFF play with that!

Am having a play with it now in P3Dv4 and all looking good so far. I will add in a few buildings (MAIW Libraries) to give a bit of character.

Here are the FS9 version of OOAD. I don't modify the original design but just convert to FS9.

I've a look on Google map to see the real objects but don't find any correspondances in my libraries.

I'm getting confused as to who's doing what for Oman. I'm adapting the models, the flight plans if necessary and the documentation and packaging, Ray is doing the paints, but I'd prefer one person to take on the scenery - ideally for all 3 sim versions.

Hi John. I’m not touching anything for now. I’ve had a look at what’s out there, and as indicated earlier, let Pete play with Dale’s Adam. Once all the dust had settled, and if a bit more info becomes available, I may look at doing something a bit more detailed. It’s certainly a fascinating and ongoing real-life project, and it would be good to do it justice in the sim(s), but there simply isn’t enough info to do it as yet.

After a fairly extensive search, there are basic sceneries out there for most of the other RAFO airfields. Having flown into and from Seeb, Masirah, Thumrait and Salalah (and a few strips in the bundu), it would be nice to see some really good scenery for Oman, but that would be a major project.

Understood Tim. Over to Pete then to see what he can do.

I've done the two Omani models x 3 for FS9, FSX and P3D, along with the aircraft.cfg files and they have gone to Ray for painting.
