Nice work, good luck with the LODs. Adding the damn things for each model variant and trying to keep track of the configurations integrity drove me nuts.

Create a set of LODs only for the base model. Then clone that model and set of LODs for each variant and make the adjustments through the variant's LODs. Don't create a fresh set of LODs each time. That will take forever.
