Thanks Hartwig. I have e-mailed Brian and he will look at his files again later this evening.

It's just possible I uploaded a previous version of Brian's placement file that we knew had the duplication problem, after I had checked everything was OK with a replacement one. Now that you have confirmed the problem, it should be an easy fix.

Thanks for your kind comments. I think Brian has solved the problem of the duplicate custom buildings in Yeovilton in FS9, at least they appear to have for me. I'm going to send the files to Hartwig next so hopefully he can verify the same. I'll then post them for everyone if that's all OK.

My thanks to Brian for removing the duplicate custom buildings at Yeovilton (FS9) and to Hartwig for testing them. All is now good and in the attached zip are two replacement scenery files.

That was a really unusual problem and one that had tied Brian and I in knots for quite a while. What seemed like a simple solution of deleting the duplicates was far from it - Brian just couldn't see the objects to delete in his ADE files. However after much trial and error and a few recompiles, the duplicates disappeared. We don't know why, but we are pleased it's fixed.

I will ask Steve if he would kindly swap the files in the uploaded zip, so that users downloading after that will not need the fix.

I have replaced the files in the original package so anybody that reads this before they download will not have to worry about the replacement files.

Hi,

first of all thank you to John and his team for this beautiful package.

Really a masterpiece, again.

I have a small issue: in the Yeovilton scenery ( FSX) I always have these four black buildings.

I suppose it is a texture problem: I've installed two times all the libraries but nothing has changed.

Does anybody have an idea how to fix it ?

Many thanks lucame

I think it is a missing library texture. Unfortunately, it's not an easy task to determine which one it is because the library needs to be identified first. I think Brian may be able to help because he would have placed the object. I'll drop him an e-mail for you and ask the question.

Thank you John and Steve for your answers.

Brian did come back to me, but the textures were not the ones needed. I have asked him to check again.

The problem of the "missing textures" in Brian's Yeovilton, when used in FSX, is solved.

In fact, the textures were not missing at all. They are the "MAIW_EGNB_Bits.bmp" and "LM" files in the Yeovilton scenery folder. However, the file that has the objects in them "maiw_egnb_library_FS9.bgl" doesn't work in FSX. I have tried running it through MCX to convert it for that sim, but still it produces blank textures.

Brian's solution is to replace those objects with similar ones from the MAIW ABO library, which is included in the MAIW FSX Global Object Libraries.

Replace Brian's two scenery files with the ones in the attached zip and that should give you the textured buildings.

Many thanks for your compliments Lucame. So pleased you are enjoying the scenery. John Young, a big thanks to him found the real problem why the textures would not show in FSX. The easy part was just to swap those that did not work with the MAIW ABO Global scenery bgl's and textures that did. Johns Wildcats and Merlin's for me are the icing on the cake. The detail in his modelling is just phenomenal.

Gents,I already have the Yeovilton/Merryfield scenery installed in my Fs9 set up,
do I have to remove anything from the 2018 install or do the new files simply overwrite
what's required?

Also do I need to remove my current Merlin F/P's or just put in the new ones?

The package looks fabulous.
I've been looking for the Navy Wings ramp and the FAA museum to fly the Skysim Sea Vixen out of.

Many thanks.

You do not need the 2018 Yeovilton package - please uninstall it. Everything you need is in the Wildcat one, including the flight plans. You will though need the MAIW Global Object Libraries and the additional third party libraries listed in the manual.
