Backfires, Bears & Blackjacks departing on what I assume (at least for the latter two) to be their first operational combat sorties, targetting Daesh-controlled areas in Syria.

      The word 'miracle' might apply here..... 8 sailors on deck were injured by the snapped cable plus several aircraft damaged. One very lucky Hawkeye crew soiled their flight suits. Never seen an aircraft recover from this sort of thing....

      Always like seeing what's happening in the military aviation world, these are great montly updates. Interesting AAR footage of some Block 60 Vipers and even an RC-135 in there at the end.
