The C-130 force structure post does NOT take into account these subsequent C-130 moves, which I'm combining with earlier moves from Mike's master post and the FY17 Force Structure Actions linked in my earlier post; I do not know the ultimate disposition of these C-130s at this time (I'll, of course, update as I get it):

- The 156th Airlift Squadron (North Carolina ANG) is transitioning from the C-130H to the C-17A and will receive eight C-17As from the inactivation of the 17th Airlift Squadron, Charleston AFB SC.

- Per Victory103's post on February 26th (and to answer Mike's subsequent thought), the 328th Airlift Squadron (AFRC) is transitioning from the C-130H to the KC-135R and will receive eight KC-135s from the transition of the 77th Air Refueling Squadron (AFRC), Seymour Johnson AFB NC to the KC-46A Pegasus. The 77th's remaining eight KC-135s will be transferred to the 107th Fighter Squadron, Selfridge ANGB MI in FY21. The 77th will receive 12 KC-46As in FY20, and the 107th's A-10s will be retired in FY21.

- The 758th Airlift Squadron (AFRC) is transitioning from the C-130H to the C-17A and will receive eight C-17As from the inactivation of the 62d Airlift Squadron, Joint Base Lewis-McChord WA.

From what little I've seen, these C-130s will either be retired or will replace older C-130Hs in the fleet.

Information Only; no packages affected

The 136th Airlift Squadron (New York ANG) has ended its association with the 328th Airlift Squadron (AFRC) and has become an MQ-9 Reaper control station. No aircraft are assigned there.

Now I'm thoroughly confused. I try to keep my FSX as current as possible. My home base is Little Rock Air Force Base - KLRF. There hasn't been a MAIW update of that base in a while. Here's what I have currently:

41st Airlift Squadron C-103J Black Cats
50th Airlift Squadron C-130H Red Devils I see the 327nd is merging with the 50th
53rd Airlift Squadron C-130J Black Jacks
61st Airlift Squadron C-130J Green Hornets
62nd Airlift Squadron C-130J Blue Barons
154th Airlift Squadron C-130H Arkansas Air National Guard

Is this close to being correct and is there an official update coming soon?

Thanks for all you do,
Reggie

Reggie, per the C-130 Force Structure, Little Rock should look like this in terms of owned aircraft:

19th Airlift Wing - 41st Airlift Squadron (AMC) - 14x C-130J
19th Airlift Wing - 61st Airlift Squadron (AMC) - 14x C-130J
314th Airlift Wing - 62d Airlift Squadron (AETC) - 14x C-130J
189th Airlift Wing - 154th Training Squadron (AR ANG) - 14x C-130H (12 PAI, 2 BAI transferred from Puerto Rico ANG)

Other info:

The 50th Airlift Squadron (AMC) was once an active-duty associate to the 327th Airlift Squadron. After the divestiture of the 327th's C-130Hs, the status of the unit changed and is under review at this time (see the caption under photo 4 of the linked story). The C-130 Force Structure (pp. 28-29) also notes the elimination of the "Active Associate unit." The squadron does not appear to own any aircraft at this time.

The 327th Airlift Squadron (AFRC) now owns no aircraft. They are now a Classic Associate unit with the active-duty 19th Airlift Wing (the specific squadron was not specified). They were originally to receive ten C-130Js from the 815th Airlift Squadron (AFRC), Keesler AFB MS. This transfer was later cancelled, and the C-130Js remain at Keesler alongside the "Hurricane Hunters."

I am looking for status of the 53d Airlift Squadron. I don't see any reports where the unit transitioned to the C-130J or any photos of a C-130J belonging to the 53d. If anyone has further info on this, shoot me a message and I'll post an amendment.

I am not an MAIW official, so I can't comment on what MAIW plans to do. But based on how I keep up with the real-world changes (and asking a former C-130 pilot from LRAFB today), this is how my version of The Rock looks now based on media reports. And, of course, all of this is subject to any changes to the budget that will be proposed to the current Congress.

I appreciate the information. I guess we'll see how it all shakes out. If you find out anything about the 53rd, please pass along.

Thanks,

Ugh... Gonna be a Tight squeeze at Whidbey. Will definitely be a challenge putting 30 P-3's in there.

Agree, but many of the original package BuNos are now in the boneyard. Just used scramble and found several that are no longer flying.

Of course they did. Why would they move to somewhere that we have scenery for.

Just read that the USAF wants to re-generate some C-5's from the desert. I wonder if they will convert them to SuperGalaxy status??

They should probably start with the eight M's they parked to "save money". I guess there are four C-5M's in caretaker status at Travis and Dover which should be in the active fleet. Air Force seems less than thrilled to have then parked.
