Family, friends, and fellow Defenders of the 126th Security Forces Squadron at Scott AFB, IL waited in excitement and joy as 13 members finally returned home from a 6 month deployment from Afghanistan last night, 30 January 2012.

There are two remaining VC-9s left flying at Scott AFB. Only reason I know this is because I am SF and work the flightline from time to time.

i saw them flying over the St. Louis area just after dropping my father off at Spirit of St. Louis airport. Sure are going to miss those jets. I remember watching them take off over by the runway during TWA's hayday at Lambert in the 1990's. Sure are going to miss those birds...

That's really weird....I live in O'Fallon, IL. I'm like 15 minutes away from Scott AFB. I've seen pretty much every plane and helicopter the U.S. Air Force has. If you need info about Scott or the Airshow; I put the website for Scott AFB's homepage and the official airshow homepage below.

If anyone wanted some ANG stuff, I am starting with putting together some afcad, flight plans, and scenery for the Oklahoma ANG. They operate out Tulsa International Airport and primarily use the F-16C/D models. i should be down some time in the summer.
