John,
I must echo Martin's words appreciating your huge contribution to our hobby. Quite apart from the vast body of work you produced to an ever higher standard, your readiness to share the knowledge gained has been invaluable.
You have always responded kindly, helpfully and patiently to my ...

Re: Gmax views and hot keys
It turned out to be a simply resolved known issue, although the root cause remains elusive. Some think it's sometimes related to Windows updates, but whatever the reason, a reboot is needed. The key point, apparently uniquely in the case of Windows 10, is that this has to be done as a restart, not ...

Gmax views and hot keys
I think I had a similar issue a couple of years ago and it disappeared on its own..
..when I try to change the view in any of the four display quadrants, nothing happens when I right click the mouse. However, I can still change the views such as left, right, top, bottom by using hot keys.

Re: Gmax gear animation question
Thanks John,
I admit I was unsure if I'd sufficiently defined the gear positions, so I followed your convention and set the ground contact position at KF130. I'll also admit that one more check showed that I'd made an error with part naming. In short, the wheels are correctly aligned now.

Gmax gear animation question
I've been working slowly on a new project for a while now, a KAI T-50. By my modest FS9 standards, most things are going well, but I have one persistent problem for which I have run out of ideas.
The gear animation mostly works, with the exception of the main gear wheels. Although they behave ...

Re: Thoughts on the next project
A couple of thoughts, and apologies if they make no sense due to my lack of understanding of the issues, but:
1. Is there anyone else of this forum who uses Gmax with Windows 11? Maybe they don't upload, but is there nevertheless experience that can be shared?
2. What about those clever people ...

Re: Looking for Mi8/Mi17 flightplans
Just asking because I never did work out how to make the special afcads needed to make some of the SBAI models land properly, or is that no longer an issue?

Assuming the Mi8/Mi17 to be the SBAI model, which afcads/ADE do you use with it?

Re: JYAI UH-1 Huey
Sympathies, John. We lost our border collie quite a long time ago, but I remember all too well how hard it was.
I'll second Jim's shout, as I was in Fulda for a while in the 80's. It was nothing to do with the Hueys, I should add, but I certainly remember seeing them often.

Re: ModelConverterX - please read
That's good to know, as I was assuming I'd done something wrong. I swapped in the original FS9 Pa23 Apache and it flew fine. When I compared the FDE's between the Apache and the Aztec, the latter had a radically different CG figure. So, I might try to tweak as and when.
Meanwhile, I tried a ...

Re: ModelConverterX - please read
Okay, I can report progress, but not yet success.
Switching the air file did indeed prevent CTD, and the plane displays in the sim. It starts and taxies fine, although the props stop when the engine is idling.
Take off is also okay, and the undercarriage retracts, but when the plane starts a right ...

Re: ModelConverterX - please read
Thanks Greg, I'll try that when I next get time and report back. Out of curiosity, why did you mention that CTD was especially likely with Todd's? If we can make this work, he has warbirds (Avenger, B-26) that would also be targets.
