Re: NAS North Island

Maybe we need to make sure at this point that you are very aware of what traffic file types you use. As Tim points out above, you should only use the FSX traffic files, which are also used by all the versions of P3D.

But, here's the caveat: if there is only 1 - one only - FS9 traffic file ...

Re: COMPUTER ADVICE

After you install the SDK (I have mine in a folder named SDK under the main simulator folder), run the sim once.

Then go into the folder where you installed the SDK and run the "Configsdk.exe".

Great!

When I go to Hagenbeck's Zoo in Hamburg, the Zoo is right under the approach to Hamburg-Finkenwerder, so I see the outsized Airbus freighters there often.

Will it come with flight plans, or are they already available somewhere?

Re: MAIW NBAI McDonnell Douglas FA-18A/B/C/D Hornet Family Naval Conversion V.3.1 Support (P3D)

Robert,

It is absolutely necessary to have the latest AIAE installed. It will show you exactly what is missing in an installed AI aircraft, you can call up the aircraft.cfg to make corrections, and you can renumber the fltsim.x entries, plus many other things.

And many times, the reason an ...

Re: COMPUTER ADVICE

You can do everything with FSX:SE that you could with FSX.

It's just that the installation path got - shall we just call it "changed a lot" - by Steam.

Re: COMPUTER ADVICE

It's a little different for FSX, Martin. And it depends on what version you have, if you have a 2-DVD set or a 3-DVD set (Acceleration).

The long version of the installation I (and others) have written out several times of flightsim.com, but basically if you have 2 DVDs you install those 2 ...

Did you have a look at flightsim.com for the correct installation procedure?

Bosshogg,

From all of the above you can see that this is very much a question of that ugly word

BUDGET

Hopefully, you have gotten some impulses to go on.

And if you have more questions, you can see that we all are happy to try to answer them. :D

Re: COMPUTER ADVICE

Well, I did say I was biased... :D

The MB I have now is a Z690 - I always get the Z series, because supposedly the Z BIOS is faster. And, like I said, in my systems the ASUS boards have been working fine, and the BIOS is easy to work with.

But, I will also say that I hear good things about other ...

Re: COMPUTER ADVICE

I see that Firebird and I posted concurrently.

As far as I know, FSX will install in Windows 11 the same way as in Windows 10, but this is something I have not tried personally. Questions on that you can post on flightsim.com, I know this has been discussed there, but can't remember the outcome ...

Re: COMPUTER ADVICE

The installation of FSX has been covered many times on flightsim.com, including by yours truly.

If at all possible, when you get a new computer, put Windows 10 on it - personal opinion.

Now, you don't say what kind you are going to get - laptop or desktop - and if a desktop, it only is the system ...

Re: How to convert MAIW packages to FSX/P3D?

Well, I am having some fun with RKSO Osan AB. Please bear with me on this one...

Geoff kindly sent me the RKSO files from the Matrix. When I first opened the AFCAD with ADE (the latest v. 4.79 Dev Pro), there were tons of open links all over the place, in parking spaces and on the taxiways. And the ...

Re: End of Life for MAIW?

MAIW is alive and kicking, and so are its members.

But they also (all of them) suffer from that well-known syndrome "Real Life". And sometimes that has to take priority (understatement).
