Like you mentioned, food for thought... :D
So at this point let me add a strange (to me) observation before I go for sleep... (it's 2230 hours here in Athens, Greece)
When you are exporting your model from FSDS V3.5 to FSX you are getting a message showing the number of vertices of the model ...

Mike, what kind of error do you get? Are sure you have setup correctly the FSX SDK SP1 and the BglComp path to FSDS V3.5? I've made some tests and works fine for me exporting either as scenery mdl or bgl.
What Ron is saying is also very possible and seems that so far is the No 1 cause of FSDS V3.5 ...

Rysiek,
I'm Just guessing that apart from any specialised keyframe animation which might exist in FSDS V3.5, or the enhanced boolean operation as Abacus claims (I'have'nt test it) I'm afraid that there will be no benefit as you will still have to go via makemdl so as to produce the mdl for fs9 and ...

IMPORTANT - To those haven't visited yet the military ai aircraft design section I would recommend to do that. I have posted there some observations after some testing I did last night with FSDS V3.5 by exporting models with makemdl and xtomdl for comparison into fsx which look very very promising ...

Last night I've downloaded the upgrade for v3.00 users and I decided to give it a shot so ...

Hi Steve,
Mainly from experience, but also after reading some topics in FFDS in the past, I would say that it's not a LOD issue and there is nothing wrong with the models. It's is just the FS strange behavior. Some models are loosing their textures in closer distances comparing to some other models ...

Graham you are right, I remember that and what you are describing is what I believe too. I knew that it was in beta so it cannot be true apart from the case that is there for pre-order. Unfortunately there is no text saying something like "available for pre-order". So, If you open the page and you ...

That's strange,

Danny,
My understanding is that the hangars are not contained in a single bgl.
I have done some research in the past, as I was looking for hangars suitable for designing military airports, so I went through all the default FS9 bgl libraries trying to locate if any, using flight1 instant scenery as ...

First of all, relax and get a cup of coffee or get back some other time - Yeah, I know, Greeks are talking too much
