Hello,
if you are referring to the formation screenshots, you need a freeware module called FSRecorder.
I've never used it so I can't tell you much, but somebody has managed to take great shots with that stuff.

Yeah i've used fsrecorder but what i was referring to was for example - in one of the UK Hawk packages you often see 2 hawks in close formation, i also think sometimes in the F3 package you can see jets in close formation. This is the type of thing i want to create in my own flightplans if possible

You have to setup a flightplan for more aircraft departing from the same airport at same time, flying at same altitude, and going to the same airport.
Then, you have to "intercept" them on their route.

I do not have and don't know that flightplanner.
If I need to setup that type of flight I use RPP_FPGen. You can find it here:

P.S. If you have and understand something about Excel, have a look at the XLS file posted here:

You can also create invisible overlay AFCAD's for the left and right side of the runway at both the departure and arrival airbases and have 2 AI take off, fly and land in 2 ship formations. This way you are guaranteed 2 ship formation flights, but it takes quite a bit more work and a lot of patience.

If you look in the Screenshots Forum at pietsteen's posts, you will see actual 2 ship AI formations performing takeoffs, flybys and landings at Sheppard AFB that I set up for him using my technique.

BTW...My signature screenshot is of an actual 3 ship Red Arrow formation takeoff that I created using my technique at RAF Scampton. 8)
