Touchdown and violent bounce on the front gear. Look at the damage. On the Airliners.net forum they say that 767s with similar damage have been totally repaired and keep on fly regularly

I wonder how a 787's plastic cabin would of looked like after a similar flying into the ground experience.

Watch the Grand Prix tomorrow and see the carbon fly
That might give you an idea. Although I'm sure that A/C
are designed with far more flexibility than an F1 car

Carbon fiber is resistant and extremely flexible, but doesn't bend nor deform like metal! It's a tissue covered with some kind of special resin. As Pete suggested, motorsport crashes are a good examplecampbeme wrote:I wonder how a 787's plastic cabin would of looked like after a similar flying into the ground experience.

And as far as I know carbon not healthy too because fibers are very small and dangerous if inhaled: that's why Boeing didn't break the wings when they did the wingflex test, they would spend $1mln only to clean the hangar!
