Looking for dirt/soil/berm berm object

Post by RKE »

Hi all

I'm on the lookout for some dirt/soil/grassy berms (or whatever they're called :? ) ala the ones seen here: http://binged.it/12Ww7Pi , and I was wondering if anyone had an idea where one might find one?

I've had a look through the various MAIW libraries, but the only ones I've been able to find seem to resemble a D-shape, rather than the C-shape I'm looking for (if that makes any sense).

If not, that couldn't be simpler to build.

So I had a poke around gmax (too much of a cheapskate to buy FSDS or whatever else is out there), ran through some tutorials, got lost a fair few number of times, but finally managed to produce this...

I think I may have made a miscalculation somewhere along the lines  (that, or it's the usual problem with . and , as a decimal mark)

After a bit more work, I'm inching ever closer to something useful. Still, baby steps and all :)

Edit: A few more hours and much improved. This is starting to become interesting, though I'm aching to see if there's some tools that I could really use in gmax, but just haven't found yet :D

I'd say that's done

The only problem this gives me, is that now I have to spend the weekend learning more about gmax, texturing, LODs and all that, because I have a lot of small projects that have fallen by the wayside due to the lack of 3D objects

Don't forget you can change the scale of any object in ADE when you place it.
