Have run into a problem with the package the MAIW AMC West C5. In AIFP v 2.2.08, I create a flight plan for the C5. Load FS2004, and there it sits. Problem: I notice my hard drive starts to continuously "read", if that is the correct word. The yellow light shines steadily. Then the computer will shut down. Restart - and again the C5 is viewed.
Today I noticed this using AIFP and wondered if this could be the problem. How can I remove the folder in the red box? I cannot even find it. Notice the blue box is the same. I completely removed the AMC West folder in the aircraft folder in FS2004. But that did not help. When I click the folder in Red, a window pops up stating No AI Aircraft In Folder. Any suggestions how I can correct this? FS2004 will not shut down properly unless I remove the C5 flight plan.
Another note: If I create 3-4 flight plans, I will only see 2 C5's. Any C5 I select from AMC West has same result.
Appreciate any help.
Possible Problem??
Re: Possible Problem??
Are your flightplans in the folder FS9/Scenery/World/scenery?
Remove your new flightplan and see if you can load fs2004.
Seems to be causing a memory leak.

Re: Possible Problem??
According to your piccy your aircraft folders are under the MAIW Installation folder. If this was the case nothing would show up in FS. If you are lucky then some how you actually selected an aircraft in that folder and saved it as the default search, worse case scenario you have actually moved the folders.
I would hit the clear button and see if you can clear that folder from your search. If that doesn't work, then have a world with Don to see how you can clear it.
The HD issue is not going to be anything to do with that. The flightplans define aircraft that it can find under the aircraft folder, nothing to do with AIFP in any way. What it is more likely is a HD index issue.
Try running a dskchk against the drive that you have FS installed on. It would be best to use the '/r' option to repair any issues, but if you are paranoid use '/p' to report only and not fix and then rerun with '/r'.

JohnTenn: I did try that first but had no luck. Not the first time hearing of this Memory Leak in FS9. Thank You for the suggestion.
Steve, Thank you so much for the suggestions. Will try out what what you said.

Hi
I have not used the search function displayed in your picture in the first post, so I can not help you with that.
I think what Steve is saying is that you need to put each part of the MAIW packages in their proper place. Look through the default FS2004 files and see where they are placed.
All aircraft must go into the main Aircraft folder.
The sceneries can go into the Addon scenery or main Scenery folder. They must then be activated using the scenery library editor in the FS2004 main menu in order to work.
Traffic files will work from any active scenery folder. I keep all of mine in Scenery/world/scenery so that I can find them at a later date.
If your hard drive is okay and your installation still does not work, then remove the files you added after the last time your FS2004 worked properly.
I hope this helps.

Re: Possible Problem??
Well, I removed one C5 from the flightplans and replaced it with a C-141. No more crashes.
Re: Possible Problem??
Interersting? Why did you choose that one C-5?

Re: Possible Problem??
This is the best C-5 I ever found. The doors opening, trucks, helicopters, jeeps. Actually, I have tried 8 different versions of this C5. Let's say on bygone hard drives, I never had this occurrence to happen. This is a new seagate 1Tb I'm using now.
