Callsigns-a question for the gurus

Post by sr01 »

Can callsigns be changed for an individual A/C depending on which mission they might be doing ?
For instance Canadian AF will use squadron callsigns for local training etc . A different one for tactical work and then might use another for real serious s##T
Thanking in advance ( I believe I already know the answer but just trying to find out IF there's a possibility)

I'm afraid not. The callsign is set in the fltsim.x section of the aircraft.cfg. So all the legs in one flightplan line will always be done with the same callsign. Only the numerical suffix can be changed per leg.

Thank's Greg .I kinda thought so.
IF one A/C is assigned more than one [fltsim.X] in the .CFG file would that work ? Say on Mondays through Thursday it's doing CCT's and local training using[fltsim.XX] and then does a "run" on BTV on a peaceful Saturday afternoon using[fltsim.YY] would that work without having a doppelganger twin parked? .

The only way to ensure no doppelganger would be to have the aircraft not flying parked away from the home base.

Or to park it inside a solid structure, like a closed hangar, when not in use so that it can't be seen by anything other than an AI viewer.

When compiling flighplans for ai aircraft one can assign a callsign to each aircraft .I needed more then one callsign depending on what mission that aircraft might be doing . By doing so ( adding more than one call sign) to A/C tail # 700 .A/C 700 will be duplicated in game Therefore #700 will be duplicated at it's base more than once . I was trying to get around that problem
here's the Latin version if you want .I'd a had it proof read by the local priest but visiting hrs. at the prison where he now resides are on Tuesday only
Cum enim componendis flighplans Ai una aircraft aircraft cuique assignare possit callsign. Requirebam plus uno callsign secundum quod missio possit facere ut elit. Delinquit (quam vocant signi appositio), A / C #700 caudam A / C 700 erunt geminati erunt geminati ad A/C # 700 Ergo in ludum scriptor basi plus quam semel.

Depends which view you're talking about. Moved house in June so now have a different view of the River Tay - but sure, it's still enjoyable................even watched two cargo boats heading downstream yesterday, carrying timber.
