is there anything a simple fix can do to help this situation:
The Bulgarian Air Force base is Graf Ignatievo LB0L.
I added a taxiway and some parking spots using AFCAD2 (just about visible on the left) to the stock airport, after the one in the "MAIW Bulgarian Migs_Miljan Korac_Nick Black" seemd to have the same problem.
I am sure it doesn't matter a bit to the military AI Traffic in and out of LB0L but if it can be fixed easily then I will fix it.
Any help in raising Graf Ignatievo or lowering the surroundings would be greatly appreciated.
The wisdom of the internets shows the proper ground level there should be 190ft, while the edge of your canyon seems to be nearly 600ft. I would first check to see if there is something else installed that may be causing this discrepency. It would be most unfortunate to correct your airbase up to the lip of the canyon then find out everyone else has that spot at the correct altitude.
There was a problem at that location due to difference in actual height and the height of the FS9 airfield.
The solution was supplied in the package with an altitude fix as part of the package in the scenery folder. Have you got that installed?
The file is MAIW_LB0L_ADE9_SH_ALT.bgl and is located in the \Scenery\World\scenery folder of the package.

Any MAIW package is designed only to work with only with FS9 default scenery/mesh. It may or may not work with addon mesh.
Now if you de-activated the FSG scenery and the problem still occurs there is something else at work here as you should not have that problem. That setup is what the package is designed for and has been tested to work.
So for me the logical first things to check is that you have your scenery structured correctly, which I believe is likely then check for other L0BL or LBPG afcads in your system.
Note that this will include your amended default afcad as it will have the wrong height.
In short if you de-activate your FSG scenery, have the ALT fix file in the correct place and afcad included in the package in the correct place and no other afcads at all for L0BL or LBPG then you should not have an issue. If you have I would lean to checking your scenery.cfg to see if the scenery order is correct.
What the error was, if I have it remembered correctly, is that MS had the default airfield height in metres instead of feet.
