This is how I have my files set up for FSX

SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\Airplanes
SimObjectPaths.1=SimObjects\Rotorcraft
SimObjectPaths.2=SimObjects\GroundVehicles
SimObjectPaths.3=SimObjects\Boats
SimObjectPaths.4=SimObjects\Animals
SimObjectPaths.5=SimObjects\Misc
SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjects\AI Aircraft - my civilian aircraft are all located here
SimObjectPaths.7=SimObjects\Military-AI - military aircraft are here

All my aircraft were showing before last night. Then, all disappeared.

You see that Simobjects is only for models so if you moved your traffic files under your new folders then I don't think that they would show up.

If you moved them then put them back into the \scenery\world\scenery folder and see if your traffic reappears.
Now looking at that requestor it would seem to indicate that it can't find your aircraft again.
Now the fact that they are not shown in red could be down to one thing.
If you start up AIFP and then move aircraft folders around then they will not be found by AIFP as it only creates a list on startup. It may be that is the case here.

Under your SimObjects\Military-AI there can't be a structure. I don't think that it is a recursive folder, so all of your aircraft folders, and only your aircraft folders, must be directly in the SimObjects\Military-AI folder.

Try moving the ones that you are trying to compile there and see if AIFP can now find them.

At the end of the day you had it working before you started moving things around. It may not be your ideal solution but it did work.

So the circled flight plan should show up on my simulator correct? Because the folder I have my civilian aircraft in are listed. in the FSX.cfg

From what I see they should do.
What I don't know enough about the sim is whether or not the config expects the defined folders under the default Simobjects location or not.

I am still struggling to work out why you seem to be making it more complicated that i think it needs to be.
Why are you placing full path names in there?
Will that work?
If full pathnames work, do they need to be in quotes as there are spaces in the names?

You know what does work. Single word folder names under SimObjects. I would suggest organising everything in that manner, to start with, and seeing if everything appears as you would expect.
If it does then try moving a small amount into a slightly different location/setup to see whether it remains active or not. Controlled testing is far easier than creating an untried setup and then trying to diagnose what is going wrong.

That would be my suggestion here.

What did you change last night?

Change it back and see if your AI re-appears

Not sure what happened. I made a copy of the traffic files in case something happened. The folder was on the desk top. Could that have been the problem?

Update: Most aircraft are showing up now. Here's the funny part. They only show up at airfields outside the US.

Making a copy of the traffic files would not cause this issue - unless you deleted the originals as well.
The traffic files have to be be found in a valid FSX path to be picked up, so on their own the files on your desktop would not be found.

Now, the fact that AIFP couldn't find aircraft says that you have/had a path issue somewhere. So what did you do to get traffic showing up again?

I redownloaded and then reconfigured them as a FSX traffic file. But I did this with all the traffic files I have.

Robert,

You need to find your simobjects.cfg file.

Is there an entry like this at the end of it:

[Entry.10]
Title=Addon AI aircraft
Path=J:\P3D V5 AI Aircraft
Required=True
Active=True

The line "Path" should of course reflect the location of your AI aircraft folder, the entry number - well, you know that.

Without this entry, your FSX will not be able to see your AI aircraft.

I have a listing like this for my FSX which tells me where everything is located.

[Main]
User Objects=Airplane, Helicopter
SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\Airplanes
SimObjectPaths.1=SimObjects\Rotorcraft
SimObjectPaths.2=SimObjects\GroundVehicles
SimObjectPaths.3=SimObjects\Boats
SimObjectPaths.4=SimObjects\Animals
SimObjectPaths.5=SimObjects\Misc
SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjects\AI Aircraft
SimObjectPaths.7=SimObjects\Military-AI
SimObjectPaths.8=C:\Program Files (x86)\12bPilot\SODE\data\SimObjects
SimObjectPaths.9=C:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\SimObjects
SimObjectPaths.10=C:\Program Files (x86)\Addon Manager\Simobjects\Misc
SimObjectPaths.11=C:\Program Files (x86)\Addon Manager\Simobjects\Legacy

Are you sure that full path names are acceptable rather than relative pathnames to the SimObjects folder?
If they are then try putting the pathname in quotes due to the spaces.

The other thing that could be a factor is that C:\Program Files (x86) is a restricted folder as far as the OS is concerned.

I will believe you. I just feel that if you have issues then simplify it as much as possible.

Now if you will were to simplify it and you still had issues then there is something else at issue other than paths. Sometimes you have to go back to basics to find the issue.

Keep of a copy of your preferred fsx.cfg setup safe and then just add one folder 'AITemp', as an example, in place of all your other added paths and have that folder under SimObjects.
Copy all or some of your ai addons into that folder. Does all your expected traffic appear? If so then that is your start point to diversify as you would like.

If the traffic appear does not appear as you expect then something else is in error.

It is not that easy to jump into a configuration that is not working and be able to figure it out.

Photos are of Honolulu and Tokyo. Nothing at PHNL. Aircraft at RJAA. This is what I don't understand. Why are there A/C at one airport outside the US but nothing at the other.

The most obvious reason that there is no traffic at a location is that that there is no traffic file that contains any movements for the airfield.

If you have checked and found that you do have one or more traffic files that contain movements then the next thing to check is that you have the aircraft specified in the traffic file(s) active in your system.

If that checks then the next thing to check is that the afcad for the airfield has parking spots. Most default locations in the sim do not.

Once you know that you have an afcad with parking spots then you need to check that they are big enough to take the traffic you are trying to send there.

You need all of the above to be correct for traffic to appear, and I am still assuming here that your traffic sliders are both to 100%.

As for the settings page, i have all mine checked but that is for my system. If you are thinking of AI then those settings alone would not affect AI, with the possible exception of the shadows causing partly invisible aircraft.

Here is what I had to do. Even though I went through the process of compiling all these flight plans, I had to do it one more time, with the flight plan in the Scenery/world/scenery folder.

Go figure.

I think, after 5 pages of this, we are going around in circles, while making things more complicated than they need be and not explaining things clearly.

- What was it that compelled you to compile for the second time?

- What happened the first time you compiled and what then happened the second time?

- Does that mean that you have flight plans in other folders than scenery/world/scenery?

- Is it possible that you may have FS9-formatted traffic files in folders other than scenery/world/scenery?
