COMPUTER ADVICE
Re: COMPUTER ADVICE
I now have FSXse loaded and busy installing all packages and add-ons. The issue I have now is getting ADE to work. During setup the app asks for a path to FSX and I have been unable to get it right. The problem is the compile airport step. Can anyone provide the correct paths available or a resource where I can get it?

Re: COMPUTER ADVICE
You need the P3D v1.4 PDK, available here. You'll need to tell ADE where to find BglComp and ShpToVec (Settings/Program Options/Folders).
Re: COMPUTER ADVICE
How is an SDK for P3D going to help with this issue? ADE collects the airports and allows access to make changes. However the paths that I used for the compile and save options are not correct. I just need to find out where I can learn the right paths.

Re: COMPUTER ADVICE
P3Dv1 and FSX SDK are the same. Since your FSX paths are broken, the SDK could help you get started again.

Re: COMPUTER ADVICE
After you install the SDK (I have mine in a folder named SDK under the main simulator folder), run the sim once.
Then go into the folder where you installed the SDK and run the "Configsdk.exe".

The FSX:SE SDK included by Steam is incomplete and doesn't allow the full range of processes you need for modifying the program. If you don't have access to the original FSX Acceleration SDK you need the P3D v1.4 SDK, which gives you access to all the compilation functions you need to make ADE work.
This topic at FSDeveloper gives you all the info and explanations, mostly from Jon Masterson (Scruffyduck), the author of ADE.
