Matt's Flightplans

Post by MSoden1991 »

Hi all,

Seeing Steve Barkers repaints for the 2025 RAF Chinooks gave me an idea to write some new flight plans up.

These flight plans mainly have waypoints but some bases to visit plus pairs formations.

In this flight plan there are only 40 Chinooks planned in for RAF Odiham as I've taken information from Scramble and a current Chinook pilot I know.

I have also taken into account airframes not seen since 2023/2024 which the pilot confirmed.

I've been told we have around 40 odd active Chinooks at present.

Steve's repaints show more than 40 Chinooks, but in this flight plan I have not included the stored ones or the ones in deep maintenance at Fleetlands.

I have also not included 28Sqn ones from Benson.

So as it stands, the Chinooks you see in this flight plan are the ones that are active right now, of course this can change in days/months if the ones stored or in deep maintenance come back to flight.

We are due 14 more Chinooks from 2027/28.

This flight plan is not perfect but I'd say its up to date in terms of what airframes we see flying in the UK to date.

Enjoy.

Matt

(if there are any issues let me know, but should be fine)

Nice,
thanks Matt - now to find the time to actually do some flying and enjoy the new traffic out of Odiham

Earlier on this year, I did the Qatar Hawks that are currently based at RAF Leeming.

Thank you gavinc, as mentioned above, we do have more Chinooks in our inventory but these are the ones that are current and have been seen in 2025.

It was good to have support from a Chinook pilot who has flown at Benson and Odiham.

They are not perfect plans but I'd say more or less up to date.

Thanks for these.

Please point me to the Hawks download, my searches can't find it.
