Elmendorf AFB MAIW

Post by muppi »

Greetings all,
This is a bit odd, I have not opened my fltsim now for about six weeks, when I left it Elmendorf AFB was full of AI thanks to MAIW.
Yesterday I went back to my fltsim NO AI at Elmendorf AFB at all, so I reinstalled the Elmendorf AFB MAIW pack still nothing.
I wrote my own flight plans to add AI using TTools the result the same an empty Elmendorf AFB.
There is no change or duplicate AF2, I have run out of ideas any advice please.
Cheers.

Please install FS2004 SDK Traffic Toolbox traffictoolbox_sdk (if you haven't done it already) and tell us, what Traffic Explorer says.

Hi,
Thank you for your replies, Traffic explorer shows only Traffic from PANC
and my Traffic slider is at 78%.
Cheers.

Could be any number of issues.

Traffic.bgl is missing
Aircraft are missing or renamed
AFCAD is corrupted
Parking codes are wrong
Parking radii are wrong for the aircraft type
Traffic text files are looking for the wrong aircraft.

Try all of these and then get back to us with your results. Only other thing I can suggest is re-install the package.

If the traffic bgl is not corrupted ACA2005 should tell you what the errors are, but you as you say that you reinstalled the pack the most obvious question I have is what changes have you made in between the re-install and the attempt to load Elmendorf.

The reason that I say this is that if there are no changes between the install and the load then the only logical cause is a corrupt bgl, or that the download was corrupt. However anything done in between can cause this. Folders deleted, afcads overwritten, aircraft sequence not starting at fltsim.0 and continuing unbroken.

Let us know if you get any more info/diags for us to help you with.

Hi,
It took me a while to check these out..................
Traffic.bgl is missing
Aircraft are missing or renamed
AFCAD is corrupted
Parking codes are wrong
Parking radii are wrong for the aircraft type
Traffic text files are looking for the wrong aircraft.
No problems with the above, as I said at the start of this thread I have not looked at my fltsim for about six weeks, I have added nothing new the AF2 is the same as it was six weeks ago, what is interesting is the mil ai at PAEI is good, there are a few C130's at PANC.

Hi,
There is no show of any type of Aircraft, as I said I have tried to put my own AI Aircraft using my own flt Plans, on the off chance that elmendorf MAIW pack had gone past its sell by date  my own AI.........
E-3A
KC135
C130
C5A Galaxy
KC10
F16
F15
F22
C17.
A bit of a waste of time as these Aircraft Don't show up either Oh well.

If the aircraft are not showing up I'd suspect a bad traffic file, a bad or corrupted afcad file or missing aircraft fltsim entries.

Do me a favor, copy your version of the PAED afcad file into a zip file and post it here in the thread for us to look at. I made that afcad so I should be able to tell if it's been changed.

One quick question that suddenly occurs to me, if your own package doesn't show up either, what directory is your afcad file in?

Oh and just to make sure of something, can you confirm that its FS9 that you are talking about and not FSX?

Hi,
I can confirm that I have fs9, also Afcad is in my fs9 folder, I have checked and double checked the AF2 no faults, I will try to get the AF2 here.
Thank you all I really appreciate your time and help with this mistery.
Dave.

Dave,
AFCAD files should be in the following directory.

FS9/Addon Scenery/scenery ...or some variation of that.

I have mine in FS9/Addon Scenery/AFCAD files/scenery

If it's only in the FS9 folder then it will not work.

Hi Kevin,
Sorry a bit of a error, my AFCAD is in my fs9 directory, my AF2's are in Addonscenery/scenery.
Well at least we have narrowed the problem down to Elmendorf also the Traffic file is most likely ok as I have loads of AI all over the world.

Did you download and install the unofficial update to the flightplans made by BadPvtDan that will get the F-22s up and running like they were supposed to?

If you did then I think that is the probelm. Because the original traffic file was named Traffic_MAIW_Elmendorf.bgl but the updated one is named Traffic_Elmendorf.bgl.

If you are fault checking the PAED afcad and you are not getting any faults, then I don't think you have the correct afcad. All of my afcads have faults because of the way I use taxiways to create visual detailing. They all have open links, non-connectng nodes, etc. They work fine, they don't conform to the afcad fault checker however.
