Slightly off-topic:
Is this a VC-10 on the South-Western part of the base as it can be seen on google?

It certainly is the venerable VC-10 in the southwest corner mate. A regular visitor to Akrotiri. Brilliant Airplane but sadly very old and decrepid now.

Thank you.
AKT will be a slow but steady project. As with any active station, and without teaching anyone here to egg-suck, there has to be a balance between what can be 'accurately' produced without compromising the station and its environs in any way.

The hangar's easy enough to reproduce as it's just up the road and unmissable (and that's 4 large structures taken care of i a single blow!). Other buildings may not be so easy to do. I will go softly softly, and as a complete novice of FSDS, it will develop as I do. (At least my wee attempt at it, that is! :? )

I am looking to overlay a google image of the area from the runway down (including TPMH on Cape Zevgara) into FS9 to facilitae accurate placement only as nobody has permission to use the photographs as yet. My colleagues at UKMIL are helping with this, but any advice will be greatly received regardless of forum!

I think you've nailed that hangar type beautifully mate!

You can also find them at Luqa (Malta) and Muharraq (Bahrain) unless they've been demolished in recent years. Wonder if there's any anywhere else?
