New! on Avsim - Global AI Antonov AN-124-100 Ruslan
Just released on Avsim, a brand new Antonov AN-124-100 Ruslan for AI by Andrew Hall - Global AI.
"After much delay and gnashing of teeth, I present the Global AI AN-124. An AI aircraft specifically designed to strip your flightsim experience of as many frames per second as possible, a whopping 4,900 odd polygons for the basic model, and even more for the opening nose version. This is partly offset by using 11 LODs (Levels Of Detail). With 27 model variations of differing visual complexity, all users will be able to find the one that suits them best. Includes all the expected animations, and some which are probably unexpected."

Just? Just? Blimey, what do you want, blood?merlin101 wrote:Is it just the base model or is there schemes included?

No, seriously, it's the base model. By our very own Dark Morelia no less, and tested by some of our members. Take a look at the frame rate hog and see.

He certainly has, and I know the end result is worth every second of his efforts. I'm really, really looking forward to the repaints so I can replace the PAI model at last.Firebird wrote:Drew has toiled with this one for some time now, I am glad that he was finally able to see his project through to the end.

Alpha India Group released their's a couple months ago and I was afraid that Drew would not have the heart to finish his. I am delighted that he has!
Way to hang with it Drew!! Congrats!

I have to say, The AIG model is great, no doubt bout it.
Dut Drew seems to have done the best possible by giving us so many options...27 models, i didn't think you could have that many configurations, and i like having different configurations because in real life every plane is not loaded the same.
Well done Drew and this will be the AI AN124 in my sim from now on, give yourself a pat on the back.

Thanks for the very kind comments fellas
Yep, I came pretty damn close to packing it in on many occasions, but I decided I'd put too much damn effort into it to give it up.
I did do a fair few test paints, to work the kinks out of the model and paintkit, but I couldnt be bothered polishing them and packaging for upload - you can probably tell how much I hate writing readmes and packing things.
I know a certain Russian group who will probably be supplying all your texture needs soon anyway

Here is a screen shot of a paint for the Russian Air Force. Still trying to work out what everything is. Andrew, great paint kit, it only took a couple of hours to knock this out.

It was a user aircraft and the joystick was probably not centred.
