New model - GAF Nomad

Post by CelticWarrior »

Released over the past couple of days by Mike Cronin;

GAF Nomad AI model

Paintkit 1

Paintkit more suitable for military variants

A quick check of a few websites indicates that these aircraft are still in service with the Royal Thai Air Force, Royal Thai Navy, Philippines Air Force, Indonesia Navy and the Papua New Guinea Defence Force as well as many civilian users.

Nice of the author to already provide the info we look for:

LOD1 - 2510 polygons (faces/triangles)
LOD2 - 1854
LOD3 - 1296
LOD4 - 1180
LOD5 - 470
LOD6 - 12

I'll add it to the list.

The Nomad was designed and built in Australia and had served the Royal Flying Doctor Service very well, but I heard that it later had problems with the airframe or some thing like that (it was a long time ago now) and most users of this aircraft in Australia sold them. I haven't seen one flying for almost twenty years, but I guess there still out there some where.

I saw my first Nomad in person this year at Scott AFB. It was a USAF bird. A Special Forces team jumped from it for the opening ceremonies.
