Compass heading 180 degrees out?

After some help please.

My compass heading seems to be 180 degrees out. See picture below I am at Corpus lined up Runway 31R, but my AC heading shows 160?

Hoping for some idea how to fix this

Probably the simplest answer here is that the AFCAD for Corpus that you are flying from is wrong. If you label the wrong ends of the runway in AFCAD then you will get this effect. Is it a default or an addon AFCAD?

Sounds quite reasonable. I used to have an AFCAD for LIRF having this problem...

Hey Nick,

Thanks for the replie, guess I should of put more info in my first post. It is happening at all airfields, with all my aircraft and all panels.

Still lost I think the airport is this way.

I occasionally get a warning message to hit a certain key to "realign" or reset my compass. I don't remember exactly what key that is - CTRL+B, D or H come to mind.

Hey Mike,

Yes all user A/C are affected.

Ford / Sprocky,

I tried the ctrl D still the same but good thinking anyway.

Hmm.....if it happens to all of your aircraft, it's not a simulated gyro drift.

That's weird. You could try removing your FS9.cfg file and letting FS9 build you a new one. Don't delete the original one in case you need to go back to it. You will have to reset your FS9 preferences and settings but this might clear the issue.

If it's of any help this has happened to me a few times over the years and was always caused by a 'rogue' AFCAD having been installed. The only way to fix it, unfortunately, was by trial and error removing all the most recently installed AFCADs until the problem goes away and then reinstalling them one by one until it reappears.

Just a thought, but, could this be caused by a corrupted GLOBAL.DLL or FACILITIES.DLL both of which are core files in the modules folder?

Thanks for all the tips. I removed the FS9.cfg file and restarted Fs.

Result looks ok. Still would like to know how it happened.

Had the same issue, which seemed as the magnetic variation was off at least 90 degrees, was told to check for an AFX or FSX scenery .bgls withing my FS9 folders. Found a few in my FS9/Addon Scenery folder and deleted them, no issues since.
