I know you guys use both Fencecheck and airliners.net as some of your repaint reference sites, just popped on FC. Thought I would get this in before the MAIW USN West Coast Hornet package is released...

James have you ever thought about trying to do the paints yourself? These guys might not admit it but doing repaints from a paint kit is actually pretty straight forward and easy to do, just takes time.

You can work on paint kits with just about any program that works in layers. I think some of the older copies of Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop can be had for free if you look hard enough.

It really is easy to do, takes a bit of practice to get things looking right but ANYONE can do it.

The hard part is creating the textures from scratch, that's a bit more involved.

No problem on the painting, I just got FS Repaint and since most AI don't required too much detail, I am working through it. The camo schemes seem more advanced to me, guess would be easy with layers.

Never tried... The only experience has been a couple of days ago when I tried to change the reg on the Italian AF all white 767 with the paintkit textures using MS Paint... unreadable!
I never tried it because I don't have any experience in computer graphics, and I indeed thought it would be difficult, especially if using free hand painting.
This weekend I have a bit of spare time... trying might not be a bad idea to fill it! :smt003

Well I only started back into all this in 2005, since then I've learned a ton and still have much to learn. Painting, modeling, scenery design, you name it, I've tried it.
