Need some help from any collectors

Post by socialgarbage »

Hello to all, and thanks for everything you are doing for our community.

I recently went to reinstall the MAIW 1st anniversary airshow package, and discoverd that I had lost two of the needed files for it.
I went to look for them, only to discover they are part of the lost files in the avsim library. :(

After a ton of searching, it appears as though these two packages were only uploaded to avsim, and unfortunately they are broken now.

I normally collect and save every zip file I download, so it bugs me that I can't find these two on my hard drive, or on the Internet.

If someone has these two files:

ai_tb_demo.zip: It is a Thunderbirds formation display package.

&

woamil12_207955.zip: USAF B-1B: Dyess AFB Complete Package Version 2 (I've got version 1, but I'm not sure if it will work as a replacement)

could you please get with me on sending them, or pointing me to the dark corner of the internet where they may be hiding  , I would be eternally grateful.

I can be reached here by PM, or at Simviation PM to ShaneG.

Many thanks for any help. :)

You can download the B-1 package from the front page of this site in the downloads area. Not sure about the Thunderbirds file, somebody will have it im sure.

I didn't see the B1 package I'm after, unless the file name given in the readme in the airshow package is wrong. I do have the file listed here, but not the one in the readme.

The one here is woamil12.zip (I already have this one.)

The one in the readme is woamil12_207955.zip version 2

Is there any reason why version 1 of the package wouldn't work in the airshow. ( I haven't tried it yet, because I was trying to stick to the list, but I imagine the only thing the airshow needs from it would be the planes, and as long as those haven't been changed, then they should work.

Thanks for the reply. :)

I'm pretty sure you're after two different files. The MAIW anniversary pack isn't named tb_demo what-not. I think that's a Magic Mike file....not an MAIW pack. I could be wrong tho.

I know I am after two different files.

The Airshow package requires almost a dozen other packages in order to work properly. Without them, it's just an empty field in the Bahamas.
I have all but the two I've asked for above. And ALL of them, except for the two I'm looking for can be found here.

I have EVERY file from here installed in FS9 & FSX, and I used to have these two files when I had the Airshow installed before, but since that time, I have switched systems, and somehow managed to lose these two parts of it. :(

The Thunderbirds package is used in the Airshow package, it's not a MAIW package, but I figured since MAIW thought it cool enough to include it's use for their Airshow package, that someone here may know where to find it.

In short, I know what I need, I just don't know where to find them, since they were only at avsim, and their links are dead in the library now.

If all else fails, I guess I could just substitute a different set of planes for the Thunderbirds display, and see if verison 1 of the B1 package works.

Thanks again. :)

My aitbdemo.zip file is still available at flightsim.com, but you'll have to get the woamil12_207955.zip from MAIW.

I knew I should have tried different file names.

Thank you so much sir! :)

I must be looking in the wrong place here for version 2 of the B1 pack. Is it on the map like version 1 is?

I just checked the MAIW Package Map and as you said it will only allow you to download woamil12.zip which is version one of the MAIW B-1B Dyess AFB package and not woamil12_207955.zip which is version 2 of that package. :(

If MAIW can't provide you a link to download woamil12_207955.zip, I'll PM you a link to download my archived copy.

Hmmm....I just looked on our server here and we don't have the V2 of that package that you are after, only the original version. Sorry. Mike M. can you post up that package on the server and let me know where you put it so I can add it to our list of packages. Then Graham can fix the link to point it to the V2 of that package instead of the original.

      Mike G.,

I just transferred a copy of the woamil12_207955.zip file into your folder on the FTP site.

The website has been updated with the later version of the package. If you go to the maps from the front page and work your way to Texas you will find it there, or on the B-1B and C-130 pages of the Aircraft Models page.
