I take it that is just static scenery? It does look good I must admit, as I have a soft spot for trains as well  I think someobody did a type of addon for trains in FS2000, but that looked a little rough around the edges

Hi There,

Yep, I think trains have been around for a few flight sims so its nothing new but they sure do add a little more spice to your low level flying experiences.

At this stage most of the trains are static, as I'm yet to workout how to make the carriages turn corners. You could image what a 1000 or 2000m long single model would do if it suddenly had to change course by even 1 degree in the sim and you cant make each carriage individual as they would opperate like individual aircraft and not link to each other. As animations in the sim only run for 52 seconds, that rules that out as well.

These trains are textured from Queensland Rail, Australia (Downunder). I took the photos my self last week. They are multi-level detailed models (LOD's) with excellent frame rates throughout. I'm still cleaning up bits and pieces of it like the tracks, so there not available as yet.

Looks much better in the sim with a train station.
