Military AI Works

This is an older thread that I was using to show what military could be added to a flight sim set up until better packages became available. Since I started this thread I have added close to 5000 textures. It takes a little bit of research on the web and a lot of searching the flight simulator sites for paints, AFCADs and basing information. I use what packages are available from WOAI, UGA, and MAIW and I also have added a lot of my own packages when I have the time. I have about 50 different countries military flying. I also have about 30 non-military and government agencies in operations. I also have the usual commercial, charter and cargo flying. I also have ton of General Aviation, Biz jets, Ag planes and float traffic. I have also added a good portion of helicopter traffic to the mix. I also still add Naval traffic in and out of harbors, boats on the Mississippi and Naval battle groups out in the ocean.

I have been flying with Flight Simulator since Bruck Artwick (subLogic) released it for the Atari 800. Had a lot of AI traffic in FS2000 called "tracks" and started adding AI to FS2002 when it became available. Started on FS2004 and have been adding every since. I have rebuilt it from scratch about six times (after hard drive failures, I learned to make backups of everything) and in the early days I used flyable aircraft for most everything needed by removing panel, sounds, reducing textures and tweaking air files. The hardest part to me was the flight planning and AFCAD availability. I have always had very heavy traffic in FS because it improves my flying due to separation, spacing, and visual search for traffic.

The hardest thing is organizing your flight sim to a point where it can be managed. I used a naming system for my aircraft folders, aircraft files and AFCADs that is standard across the board. I also use M code and radius for all my AFCAD design. When I get a AFCAD from another source, I redesign it to my specs. It takes a little effort but it pays off as your set up grows.

It takes about 30 minutes from the time I start FS until I am able to start a flight. I run a duel core system, Win7, 8GB memory with a 1GB Nvidia graphics card. I have learned to keep my hardware up to date if you want to run the traffic level I do. I run FS on a separate 1TB hard drive. I run my Windows cache on its own drive, I also have a ReadyBoost drive set up for Win7.

I always want to thank the modelers, painters, flight plan, scenery and AFCAD makers for their work. It has made this a very fun hobby.

I have just re-downloaded and still can not be found in the pack. All serials in the pack start with XZ, ZE and ZH no ZB's.

Doing some detective work I found the suspect helo at "http://www.ukmil.org.uk/DLA2/comment.php?dlid=109".
Called the "raspberry ripple" paint scheme.
However it does not appear to be for the AI Seaking.

I'm using the same paint for all my T-6's out of NAS, since I can't have that many anyway due to the framerates. Should be an easy fix as the repaint already has the "F" tailcode.

Good idea on the T-39's, I may use that model as well. The USAF T-1's/T-6's carry the "RA" tailcode.
