I have them both installed and have no problems. The only time you might get a CTD is when you are flying from somewhere outside of that area at dawn or dusk with dawn/dusk blending checked on and the terrain textures start loading up. If you do not use dawn/dusk texture blending, it is not a problem.

Since Nellis AFB is home to the renowned Thunderbirds, I drop in now and again.
It's early 2013, and when opting to overfly Nellis at Dawn or Dusk, the inevitable CTDs spoil the fun.

After re-reading the last several posts of this thread, it's obvious you already know that the guilty BGL is the airport BASE polygon: MAIW_Nellis_AFB_Base_Poly_VTPP.BGL.

Using a process of elimination, I could only slam into a CTD when this specific file is present in the scenery.
Upon its removal...the CTDs are absent, as far as I can tell.
Since unchecking the Dawn/Dusk texture blending also eliminates the CTDs, it's also an option.

It's a relief to know only one file is responsible.

What's not a relief is not being able to figure out why that file causes that particular issue on only some computers, specifically Radion graphics cards.

My graphics card is an EVGA Nvidia Geforce GTX 550Ti (1GB RAM).
(I supplied a few more details in the thread of Elmendorf AFB v2........if you check)

Since You clearly state that ONLY certain graphics cards produce these CTDs, it's fairly obvious that its the CARDS
that are at fault here....and not the Elmendorf scenery or the VTP files, Mike.
Most problematic files in a scenery are spotted during the testing phase of a package - prior to launching it for download.

There's no way for you or anybody at MAIW to predict the behaviour of different types of graphic cards used by
flightsimmers all over the globe....!!

You can't be that arrogant, can you?

You just insulted pretty much every single person that has ever contributed to an MAIW package.

Is there a fix for the Nellis scenery?

What are the alphasim sceneries for Nevada?

The fixes are as follows:

Disable dawn/dusk texture blending in your FS9 display settings.
-or-
Do not load the scenery at dawn or dusk.

You can also remove any VTPP file in the scenery.

None of those 'fix' the problem which no one has been able to figure out but they are workarounds.
