Mark, don't be sucked in by the story. Trust me, this is entirely RAF spin.

Confederate Air Force?
Seriously, why would 32 CAF pilots go to train on the Tif?

Dunno
It said something about "best qualified" pilots and helping the RAF out in it's time of need .

Blimey, lets have some Poles, some Czechs, some Yanks, some FAA and some from the Commonwealth as well.
Now why does this seem familiar

Put some land forces in Tobruk and were almost full circle.

Great minds think alike.
I wrote, I backspaced, I wrote, I backspaced again.
Then I wrote and deleted

Well I read in the latest Combat Monthly I got in the post yesterday, that a Dutch Lynx and crew were captured by Pro Goverment forces during the evacuations of Nationals prior to the Air campain. They have since been released.

According to Danish (and Swedish!) press, the Swedish Gripens are currently stuck on the ground at Sigonella due to lack of the "special type of fuel required" (Jet A1 as opposed to JP5). Meanwhile the Danish vipers are busy racking up the bomb bill and giving tours to members of the press.
Expect much mockery between the Danish and Swedish crews over this one, we take any excuse for some friendly cross-Øresund feuding

Ah ,but when they DO get the Jet A1 they'll be ready to go as they've got their own C130 for refuelling .I can't imagine the frustration of being there and unable to get airborne and do the job
Your news must be very recent as the Gripens HAVE been flying out of Sigonella as of 4 days ago !! Also nice to see 425 Sqn is using Lark as a callsign (as they should be)and NOT Aluette

My dad was telling me that a few weeks ago there was the Qatar Air Force Mirages in at Tabuk for a few days, before they moved some where else. And that there was a US C-17 in a couple of times.

Well sounds like US Senator John McCain made a surprise visit to the opposing forces yesterday. Not sure what he promised them but today, the US started operating UCAV's over Libya including at least one strike today. I think they're using MQ-1's so far.

Italy is taking part in the ground attack sorties since yesterday. Today an Italian F-16 experienced some engine trouble at Trapani, and a UAE one had trouble in Sigonella. The UAE pilot ejected from the aircraft when it stopped.

As the $ 25 million reward for Osama has not been claimed, does it mean we will have a Lotto rollover for Gaddafi ?

Is this war still going on??? That's a rhetorical question btw.....
Seems like things have stalemated and it's been all but forgotten. Time for NATO to #$% or get off the pot.

its still being covered by international media like the BBC and Al Jazeera but over here in the states, we've got more important stuff to worry about like the new season of The Bachelor and America's Got Talent....
Militaryphotos.net has a running thread that pretty much has daily updates:

The rebels aren't giving up anytime soon, just could use a bit more support it seems, I'm hoping they can continue to hold out.
