The Captain of the Costa Concordia said he was taking after his Grandfather because he never went down with his vessel.... which was a bit embarrassing for the family as he was a submariner...

The Italian army has been called in to help with the people from the grounded cruise ship. But they have now swapped sides and have declared war on the survivors.

++

A cruise ship has run aground off the coast of Italy?

That's a moor ey?

++

Reports have emerged of an obese female passenger still unaccounted for in the Italian cruise ship disaster.

It's not over until the fat lady sinks.

++

Apparently two women have been found dead in the internet cafe on the Costa Concordia. Probably a couple of blondes trying to surf their way to freedom.

:wink:

Two blondes were today discovered in the onboard Internet Cafe.

It's believed they were trying to surf their way to safety. :smt005

Ray, as a huge MotoGP/WSBK fan, thanks for the laugh, and CC seems to have the lean angle on all 3 riders.

A couple of days ago I read it may take up to one year before they remove the ship without slicing it!

Hello all,
yesterday I had the chance to visit Costa Serena, one of Concordia's sister ships, on dock at Civitavecchia, close to Rome, and sailing a round trip from Savona to Civitavecchia, Palermo, Palma de Maiorca and Valencia. A friend of mines will be on cruise on this ship on June and her travel agent had some free ticket for a visit of the ship with lunch offered in one of the restaurants on board.
The best thing you can do on a cruise ship is eating, because they keep on cooking fresh food at any moment, so we didn't think twice and went to some of the several "buffets" (don't know if it can be translated into English, there are tables with several foods and you can help yourself) of the ship .
I didn't like the ship itself because some areas are extremely kitsch (definitely a good setting for porn movies :smt003 ), but it has been a nice way to spend a day out.
I would post the photos but they are too big and I don't feel like resizing them all, but there is one attached just to make an idea of how horrible some of the entertainment areas are.
