Hi John,

My vote would be for a Buccaneer and a Gannet, although the double props might be a bit of an animation challenge on the latter. Any rotor craft would also be very welcome.

Being a huge fan of retro traffic from the years 1985-1990 the Bucaneer would be my absolute favorite !! A Canberra would also be great...

One that I had forgotten about but would definitely fit the bill would be the Nimrod. All 3 versions.

Before anybody says it, I know about the UKMIL ones, but I don't won't to go over old ground about those models.
Without belittling somebody elses efforts I would really appreciate new models.

Many thanks for the suggestions so far. I've also corresponded with Mike P and I now know what to avoid to prevent duplication, particularly in FS9. I'll dump the UK Phantom idea. I was only really inspired because I happened to come across the War Paint book at the Yeovilton FAA Museum at the weekend when taking a break while travelling back from Cornwall. More importantly, I've seen more of what Mike is doing with the UK F-4s, not to mention the Migs and the scope is just mind boggling.

V-Force and Bucanneer are certainly possibilities based on the responses so far, but no one has mentioned USAF retro, like the B-29, B-36 or B-47. Having narrowed the can of worms a tad, I know that might open it up again, but I am keen to spend time on something users actually want and isn't available elsewhere. It would be nice also if some scenery existed in which to operate the aircraft.

I admit that I was concentrating purely on Brit builds but if you were doing American builds then the F-100 and F-101 would be good canditates. Both were based in the UK.

John, if you want to re-open it, including other air forces and going back to the WWII era.... I think the "wishlist" will never ends :smt003 .
I love the Superfortress :smt007 , but what about the Blackbird? :smt055 :smt055 :smt055
And the P-38? Mosquito, Zero, Me-262, 109, 190, Tempest, Macchi 202?

Ok stop, at least for me. :smt003

John you really are brave doing something like this but I'll chuck my two pence worth in and how about a bit of a compromise on the US/UK retro scene - the AV-8A! I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the poor little Harrier, in AV-8A, GR1, GR3, SHAR 1 & 2 and GR5 guises? Otherwise, Buccaneer sounds REALLY good and would fit in nicely with, say a nice retro setup for the Navy at Lossie back in the 1970s, or Honington during the 80s :D You know, just saying like.....

EDIT: I am also in full agreement with Steve on the Nimrod thingy....which probably doesn't help does it?

Well, if the theme is "RAF Cold War" one should add the TSR.1 too!

Isn't it an idea to make a poll so people can vote which model they would love to see most? :smt001

In the end you should make what you want but this might help?

Thanks in advance for whatever you will make! :D

Right, time to draw a line under this I think.

Interestingly, there is a wish list poll for AI aircraft over at the Owl's Nest. It has some really diverse results though, the top 5 being:

B-52 (302 votes)
Fiat G-91 (204 votes)
B-36 (165 votes)
F-84 (152 votes)
V-22 Osprey (150 votes)

I'm not a great lover of online polls because the results can often be distrorted by repeat voting. I'd rather like to see some qualitative comment as we have in this thread.

So, on that basis, my top 4 would appear to be:

Vulcan/Victor/Valient (6 mentions)
Buccaneer (5 mentions)
Canberra (4 mentions)
Sea Vixen (3 mentions)

All of those appeal to me and I may make them all yet. I think I'm going to start with some Victors and Canberras. They will fit in niceley with my Marham scenery if I regressed it a bit.

Thanks everyone for your input.
