Guys,
The problem that Hartwig was having was definitely caused by the AI Su22 FDE. Apparently the AI Su-22 had been released publicly for a while and thanks to Martin (gsnde) for making a copy of this very nice early release AI model available to me.
When I ran a left hand VFR pattern test at my standard KBTV test airport with an 8300 foot runway, I found the VFR pattern speeds to be very high, the VFR pattern to be elongated with the base leg skewed significantly and landings to the left of the runway on the grass.
I then made a couple of quick modifications to the AI FDE to whoa the VFR pattern speeds down and then the AI Su-22 landed right down the centerline of the runway.
So Hartwig's VFR landing problem was caused by the AI Su-22 FDE and not his AFCAD.
Since I am not comfortable modifying someone else's AI FDE for use except by myself, I have now created from scratch a prototype MRAI Su-22M4 FDE which flies excellent VFR patterns and always lands right down the runway center line and will do so regardless of an airport's elevation.
Eventually after I complete my standard AI FDE test protocol my alternative MRAI Su-22M4 FDE will be made available to any users that want to use it.
