All original, Christopher, except they are converted to mipped DDS DXT5 like all my textures. I haven't noticed any transparency issues with the Apaches, but there was something with the Chinooks I think. Can't remember exactly...

Yes,
I had also problems with the "Hellenic Army Helicopters" Chinooks at P3D, cockpit transparency issues, couldn't solve it too but I have done repaints for them anywise and I am using a different NBAI model for them, they are OK, no problems.
But DDS for the "NBAI_AH64_Apache_AI_ONLY" too? They are FS9 right, DDS files shouldn't work for them or am I missing something?
Look for what I am talking about, the front is from the package and with the package textures, the others my repaints,
Thanks
PS: Sorry if I am spamming your topic Greg, do separate my posts if you like.

Ouch those do look terrible indeed... I'm not sure if that changes anything but I didn't use the models from the package; I just moved the textures and fltsim sections to an NBAI AH64 folder I already had installed.
DDS textures work just as well on FS9 models as BMP's. In fact they should even run better. I have an imageTool batch script in my AI aircraft folder that I periodically run and it converts all BMP textures it finds in one go. A similar script sits in my scenery folder converting scenery textures to DDS DXT1 and mipping them in the process.

Just this one for now while we wait for more military models to become v4 compatible. But my God do I love v4. The dynamic lighting alone is a reason never to go back!
I was following these two F-16's during testing and for a moment felt nostalgic for my days with them in the sandbox...

Wow that looks real nice. Is that a AI plane or your flyable plane?
In about 2 or 3 weeks I will be using P3D too. I am currently a FS9 user and I am feeling a bit sad that I will be loosing some of my favorite sceneries but I think P3D is that way to go in the long run. (I have thought about installing both sims so I can still use my favorite sceneris, flyable planes, and AI that don't work in P3D)

Both AI, thanks to Gavin's FSX conversion. The leader was just cleared for take-off.

I have that moment in P3DV4 when I look out of the aircraft window and for a split second it all looks real.
Lovely pic above Greg, I had the same split second moment with it!

Yeah my wife thought I had taken it on some secret mission I never told her about. "When were you deployed in Algeria?"
She saw it when she looked a second time, but you can't deny that LM has taken leaps forward with v4. And together with good textures, weather and PTA preset it can be very immersive.

Yeah it's getting better and better. Just have so many addon's though ,its out of control.
PTA
ENVEX
AS16
SkyForce
UT Live
ChasePlane
etc
Take me 20 min to get everything ready!
I just downloaded DC 2.5 and let me say its beautiful. The Harrier is a work of art, and the Hornet will be out soon.

Great shots
I've converted the NAAI E3A NAEW myself, flying in P3D4. Do you know how to get the antenna to rotate? I used assorted animation replacements, but only ended up with the antenna rotating fast as a propeller!

If I remember correctly the antennae is a tick18 anim.

It's a bit more complicated than that. Ideally you want the antenna to rotate only after take-off and then at 6 revolutions per minute. I have some FSX xml code that Kevin produced for me for the Japanese B767 AWACs. I'll PM it to Andrew.

Now this thread is relevant to me as I just moved over to P3Dv4. Painfully slow going as I move each of my packages in from FSX, but it allows me to tidy up stray repaints or outdated packages. Just got ASN and PTA to install as well.
Oh and yes the DCS Hornet is awesome, great to have a cpu where I can run both.
