Great. Is this using the old scenery by John Stinstrom, updated later by Jim Dhaenens?

Personally, I would love to see a new scenery that uses the ORBX AFCAD as a footprint, with the custom buildings that JS did updated and converted for FSX/P3D. That would be ideal.

If there is anything I can do to help with NASNI, just let me know. I've still got a few friends who are helo pilots there.

I have loaded up the afcad in AFX and saved it as an FS2004 afcad.
It is not actually too bad a fit, as you would expect as Jims was based on Johns work, except for the waters edge where a line of spots goes through 2 hangars there.

The statics bgl needs to be removed so you don't get Jetstars on some spots.

My guess is that it might be a simple job for somebody to re-align some of the features slightly to be a better fit but it's not bad at all.

I attach the FS9 version of that afcad here in case somebody wants to re-align some of the features to help out FS9ers.

I should say that I have not tinkered with anything that Rick supllied with the exception of the conversion.

One package I have been waiting on for some time. Includes my old squadron (HSC-15, about to be retro) on the outstanding JYAI models. I can't thank you enough as a former USN rotorhead! Now to figure out the scenery in FSX for the increased Seahawk population.

Is this AFCAD for the default scenery? Or a add-on scenery? If so which one?

Jim's one for FSX which is based upon Johns one for FS9.

I am a FS9 user, would Jim's scenery work in FS9?

New file submitted to hopefully replace the original. Corrects the couple of paints that are too big for FS9 to display, plus a few incorrect serials and included the FS9 AFCAD. Thanks to all for pointing all the corrections, especially Steve/Firebird.
Anything else, let me know and I'll get on it straight away!

Short answer is No.
FSX scenery uses FSX generic libs, FSX afcads have extra features and FSX scenery can also model sloping terrain.

This is why I said that although it is close some minor tinkering will be needed by somebody to fit Johns scenery, or you can manually add all the parking spots and taxi links to Johns scenery afcad. Whichever you feel is best.

I assume that to work it in FS9 we must substitute the models with those of FS9 version

I did. The schemes are in DXT3 so they are FS9 friendly.

Hi Jim,
I will see if I can help Rick out here.

Texture Not Used - No fltsim entry.
HSC-3 165764 - agree
HSC-85 165259 - agree, could be superfluous as no FP either.
HSM-41 166586 - found fltsim entry, no error
HSM-73 167012 - found fltsim entry, no error

Not assigned to a FP
MH60S HSC-8 167867 - typo error in FP only, entered as 167865

A/C in FP not present in FS
Traffic_HSC-3 - MH60S HSC-3 165764 - agree
Traffic_HSC-3 - MH60S HSC-3 166300 - typo error. Actually HSC-21 allocated aircraft entered into both FPs.
Traffic_HSC-8 - MH60S HSC-8 167865 - typo error in FP should be 167867
Traffic_HSM-41 - MH-60R HSM-41 166586 - found fltsim entry, no error
Traffic_HSM-73 - MH-60R HSM-73 167012 - found fltsim entry, no error

Do you agree with what I found?

Yep agree with that....I'd a corruption in my aircraft.cfg that caused the spurious HSM 41/73 entries. :?

If you're using this with FS9 I'd advise copying the [GENERAL] onwards part of the aircraft.cfg from the FS9 aircraft as the effects portion is for the FSX version and uses FSX effects.

I'd also to copy the FS9 model for the Sea_Hawk_S from the previous FS9 release as it was erroring on startup.

Jim

I am one of those annoying people that congregates all the same types in one folder so for me it is just about adding the fltsim entries, however that can take its time.

OK so now that we have a handle, and agreement, on these minor issues it makes life a lot easier to sort them out. Rick has a small number of scheme issues to look at and then my guess is that a final release 2.1 will be forthcoming.

Requesting permission to upload adjusted flightplans to match real world operations. For example, HSC-3 is the training squadron (FRS) and makes use of NOLF Imperial Beach just to the SE of NAS North Island for pattern work. I do appreciate having the FPs done by squadron.

There is no issue with uploading alternate plans, people always like choice.

Would I would say though is hold off until Rick irons out the last couple of glitches. The simple reason being otherwise you might introduce issues. For example if Rick introduces new schemes or removes some, then your plans will not match perfectly and then you then have to amend your work.

Yes please do provide better flightplans! Im not local so I literally did those flight plans just to make the skies busier ...I was hoping someone like yourself with better knowledge, would give us better ones!

Version 3 is now uploaded, a few more corrections etc.... hopefully the last until theres squadron disbandment/formations in the next couple months...

I wonder if it would be possible to retexture these object libraries. Even if we just converted them to .dds textures that might help, particularly for FSX/P3D users.
