When I started with the model I made some mistakes with the size of the aircraft, later I resized it to it's correct size. Or that's what I thought.
While comparing my model to other models, it looks like the Rory Kelly's model is substantial bigger, but the ALPHA model is exactly the same size as my model.
Looking at different website with information about the dimensionsof the CH53, I get different results. And it looks that Wikipedia is wrong with some numbers (like cabin width). As I look at satallite images and measure the dimensions of CH53's at different locations, it looks like Wikipedia is still wrong, and that would mean that Rory Kelly's model is too big as well.
I know that the CH-53E is bigger than it's predecessor, and that's where some differences come from.
Is there someone with more accurate information?
For the CH-53A/D/G, MH53H/M I use this:
Lenght fusalage around 20 mtrs
width cabin 2.6 mtrs

Hi Menno,
I found this site which will help with lots of information photos and 3 view drawings with dimensions included for CH/HH-53A/C/D (Two Engine) 3-view Drawing, CH-53E (Three Engine) and CH-53K 3-view drawing. Just scroll down the page. http://sikorskyarchives.com/S-65H-53D%2 ... ALLION.php
Regards,
Steve
The figures from that website are like the dimensions I used for my model.
And being a website from the Sikorsky Historical Archives, I thrust these numbers more then wikipedia.

I think that the dimensions of helos can be more confusing than aircraft. Some include the rotors for length and width and some include refueling probes and pitot tubes in length.
It goes to show that there are a number of things that can conspire to trip up a modeller.
What I thought I would do is see if there is anything from the horses mouth. I found this page at Sikorsky which has dimension drawings of the H-53A-D, H53E and H-53K. Here http://www.sikorskyarchives.com/S-65H-5 ... ALLION.php.
Do these help at all?

I think you refer to the repaints released by Hartwig Ullrich. Those are for the CH53E from Rore Kelly. Not my model. My package is not in the library yet.

My understanding is that Laupheim and Rheine went to the Luftwaffe from HEER along with the CH53. If so, retro and modern FPS could be built off the same basis.
