Hi Mike,
I think the AF2 is yours as I do get a lot of small problem which I can live with.
Todate PAED is still an empty Air base, too be honest I have run out of ideas, as everything checks out, such are the joys of fs9.

Dave,

This isnt a normal problem if you are sure everything checks out. There is obviously something wrong, and Im betting you it is something very very simple and easy that is making it all go wrong. Where are your Traffic bgls located. They should be in FS9/Scenery/World/Scenery check to see if this is so.

Hi Nick,
Yep all my Traffic files are in FS9/Scenery/World/Scenery, I have just done a manual install of the Elmendorf MAIW Pack just in case the autoloader missed something out, you guessed it no aircraft.
What is frustrateing is being sat on the ramp at PAED watching aircraft come and go at PANC.
I am at a loss.
1. AF2 OK
2. Traffic file OK
3. Aircraft OK
4. Settings OK
Thanks Nick,
Dave.

Dave,
Have you installed anything recently??

Sometimes an installation of an add-on can muck up your FS.
If so, delete this installation and see if your aircraft return.

Hi Kevin,
That was my first thought, the only addition to my sim in the six weeks was an Aircraft, which brought me to PAED in the first place.
I don't think an Aircraft would cause this six weeks ago I saved an F22 with about six F22's on the ramp at PAED, no more F22's today my F22 is on it's own.
Honestly Kevin I can't for the life of me think what's causing this, I have tried and tested everything that I can think of.

Dave,
I have sent you a pm, please do what I ask anyway, but it strikes me that there is another obvious cause.

Can you set your traffic setting to 100% and tell me what you see then.
Steve

@Dave,
Right off the bat I can see that you are not using the elmendorf afcad, the correct one is called MAIW_AF2_PAED_DEFAULT_DB_MG.bgl. In your manual installation you would have found it as one of 10 files in the \Addon Scenery\scenery of the download.

So remove, zip, or whatever that af2_paed file, for one thing it can't take all of the traffic. Make sure you don't have more than one afcad for the same airfield in the same place, then try again. If in doubt run afcad for PAED and it will show you how many the system is picking up. The maximum you want, normally, is 2. the dafault and the addon.

@Mike
Also I found another problem, the Raptor folder is included twice in the installation package. The package I have just downloaded from avsim, so it is current. I am surprised that nobody has noticed before. Is it worth fixing it or waiting until all the sqn refits are done?

Hi Steve,
I did as you suggested and removed the AF2 PAED.bgl, so now I only have MAIW_AF2_PAED_DEFAULT_DB_MG.bgl.
No Aircraft, 2 control towers and trees on the ramp, six weeks ago the PAED.bgl and MAIW_AF2_PAED_DEFAULT_DB_MG.bgl sat side by side giving me loads of Mil AI.
All the files for Elmendorf MAIW Pack are where they should be, I am out of idea now perhaps we should call this a hopeless case.
Thanks Steve,
Dave.

Dave,

Please download and run this litlle utility: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?Ca ... DLID=45600

It will scan all of your folders for duplicate afcad files. Make sure to tick the selection that will check "all folders".

Run that and see if there is another afcad hiding in your system somewhere that might be interfereing.

Also if you have two control towers, that might mean you've got more than one scenery running for PAED.

@Steve, yea we'll get it when we do the updates with the rest of the F-22s and C-17s, thanks for finding that.

Hi Mike,
I have Scan AFD already, there are no duplicate AF2's, I will check for a scenery I had missed.
I have Ultimate Terrain Alaska and Canada but if this was the problem it would effect all airports so I guess that can be ruled out.
I have one default Control tower and a Control tower in the middle of the ramp almost oposite the default one.
Thanks Mike,
Dave.

Dave, there were 10 scenery files supplied with the Elemndorf scenery in the \Addon Scenery\scenery folder .If you tried a manual install theses files should be in that directory :-
000_MAIW_PAED.BGL
MAIW_AF2_MAI0.bgl
MAIW_AF2_MAI2.bgl
MAIW_AF2_MAI3.bgl
MAIW_AF2_MAI4.bgl
MAIW_AF2_MAI5.bgl
MAIW_AF2_PAED_DEFAULT_DB_MG.bgl
MAIW_PAED_Exlcude.BGL
MAIW_PAED_OB1.BGL
maiw_paed_objects.bgl

Obviously we know that the afcad is there but can you confirm that all the others are, as it sounds like you have no scenery. Which sounds like it isn't installed properly.
Can you confirm that you have other afcads and files in that scenery that are working?

Hi Steve,
Yes I can confire that all 10 files went into Addonscenery/scenery, I think I have a rogue bgl somewhere as along with the extra control tower and trees on parts of the ramp, I have noticed taxi way signs all over the place
on the runway in the middle of taxi ways etc, so there is something which I have yet to find.
I know my AF2's are good no duplicates as scan AFD informs me, what I plan to do is delete everything with Elemndorf and start from scratch and see what happens.
Thanks Steve,
Dave

It sounds that you have got bleed through from another scenery, now I don't think there is another scenery for PAED, but look at other Alaskan scenery that you might have.

Well there is one obvious scenery that could be conflicting, and that is PAOM, Nome, however it seems that you have had that installed for a while.

However there is something that rings a bell, somebody had a problem a year or so ago with Nellis not appearing and I think that it turned out to be Groom Lake. Now this I notice is right near the bottom of the list.

What I would suggest now is to untick/deselect all of the scenery that you have installed since the last time that you last know that PAED was working.
Check to make sure that PAED is now working and then start activating the airfields one by one to find the cause.
I wouldn't be surprised to find that its one of the Alphasim boys that causes it, but then again this has been going on too long for me to bet on a solution  .
Let us know how you get on.

N.B. If you get stuck your sceneries are always added to the bottom of the scenery.cfg file, no matter what priority you assign them.

Steve,
Groom Lake, Nellis, Binbrook and Islamabad checked out ok, your not going to believe this, the Aircraft are back, I really don't know why or what we did, loads of Mil AI just as it was six weeks ago, if anything even better.
So with that I would like to thank everyone who took the time to give advice and help.
Steve thank you very much.
Ok back to the next problem
Dave.
