I would be opening up a can of worms I feel and would have requests for alsorts of models for multiplayer.

Bless you Nick,

I have been waiting forever hoping for LOD frame rate friendly helos.

All the usual machines out there are relly good to look at alone but
try to use them as a AI aircraft, forget it.

Obscene poly counts like in the 50,000 range are typical. You could
populate a whole airport with efficent AI aircraft for the price of one
of those helos.

Since nobody had made any lowploy helos, I have been trying to make
my own. This is going slow though, trying to learn Gmax is a bear.

I need to get a grip on how to set up LOD and understand Hiarchy structure.

I'm starting out with AS350's since here in Los Angeles they dominate
the sky. All the TV stations use them and the police. So I will make
the TV versions and the police versions.

Good luck on the project. I looks really cool. :D

Thank you for the Kind words. Well as the A is almost near completion I started playing with converting it to a D.

Hi Nick,

Any special requirements in the afcad or flightplans to make this beauty fly?

Arjan,

The NBAI Apache FDE is optimized for it to fly to and from AI helicopter runways of ~500-800 foot length. It will fly to and from normal FS9 airport runways, but its landings will be tail low with a bit of a bounce.

So is it impossible to make a vertical take off animation of an ai helicopter model? I think that Nick said at one time he was experimenting.

Available to the staff now is the A with an additional load "Warload" and the D with all its loadouts, plus this version carries the correct Lightmap for all Apache versions.

I'm so pleased the WAH-64 is being included, living in Claydon we have them over the house everyday!

Nick Black will know exactly where Claydon is!
