I'm glad to see a fan of the Starlifter or sometimes referred to as "StarLizard" My best memory of the C-141 was getting the Henry Tomkiewicz AI downloads and worst memory was a Space-A flight from Dover to Travis.

Best flyable

Post by starlifterfan »

Ah yes Space A,I remember when Patrick AFB flew the C-141 down to Ascension(FHAW) with a stopover in Antigua(TAPA).During some months the plane would be so packed with space A people that it would feel like your in a sardine can...of course (back in the day) alot of peolple smoked cigarrettes on board...and when the 141 was carrying (LOX) ..Liquid Oxygen their was NO SMOKING...talk about irritable people for 7 to 8 hours into Ascension...anyways not the post for this but I do on occasion fly (Flightsim) that route when I do have the time KCOF..TAPA....FHAW..then on down to Joberg(Johannesburg) then back ...also that green cammo they had on that plane was hotter than you know what during the summer....miss the starlizard.

As much as I loved the Starlifter, I have to admit that the one and only one Space A flight I made on one was the worst ever Space A flight I ever made!

That B-52 from Capt Sim will be a definite purchase for me. Can hardly wait.

Set up the F-16 - Kirk Olson as my default aircraft. Commercial Level Simulations - KC-10 Extender and T-45C Goshawk are my next favorites. Waiting patiently for the release of the Alphasim C-17.

It looks like AlphaSim is putting out a T-34C Turbo Mentor for FSX.
Anybody like the T-34C?

I have it for FS9, FDE seems off as well as fuel burn. Should be fixed in FSX!

I have the old FS9 version as well. I used it for AI traffic at North Whiting Field and Pensacola. Prior to the MAIW T-34s and my recent upgrade I was getting 2-4 FSP at these two fields. And I used to watch my AlphaSim T-34C on short final dive for the runway and flare about 10ft or more above the runway and do all sorts wonderful things that I couldn't repeat without getting myself in a lot of trouble.

Ah.. there are so many toys to choose from! I also suffer from the scenery/AFCAD/AI building virus, that prevents me from flying too often. My favs:

Freeware:

F-16 by Kirk Olssen
Tornado GR4 from IRIS/DSB Design
F-5A and F-5E Tiger II from DSB Design
S-3B Viking from IRIS
Mirage 2000 from Roland Laborie
F/A-18E/F (and the Growler!) from Team FS KBT
P-3C Orion from Team FS KBT
T-45 Goshawk by DSB Design
Mirage F-1 from Kirk Olssen
Mirage 5/50 from Eduardo Fadul
Su-25 Frogfoot from Kazunori Ito

Payware:

F-16 from LAGO
Eurofighter Typhoon from Alphasim
Saab Gripen from Alphasim
F-15C/D/E from IRIS
EA-6B Prowler from Alphasim
V-22 Osprey from Alphasim
F/A-18C/D from Aerialfoundry
F-4 Phantom II from Cloud9
Su-27 Flanker (formerly) from Alphasim
Mig-29 Fulcrum from IRIS
F-14 Tomcat from IRIS
Tu-22M Backfire (formerly) from Alphasim

There's no specific order in this list. Some are stunning realistic models (for example the EA-6B, F-4E/F), others are just great fun to fly (most of the IRIS products).

And now I feel the need for speed! ;-)

Great question.

F22 by Iris... the things this thing can do are ridiculous!! My fave in realife too.

F16 by KO...the easiest plane to fly for me.

F15 by Coral...unrestricted climbs are a cinch with this powerful beast-vertical baby!

C17 by MS...what more can I say

Tornado by Iris...love the wing sweeps and vortex fx showing up so easily.

T-45 Goshawk by (Iris I think...?)...just plain fun to fly.

non-military: IFDG Airbus 319, 20, 21 or 18
Dash 8Q4 by Dreamwings.
