Many times ago I remember to test a Lightning for AI. May be it came from UKMIL.
Try to search for it there.

There were a couple of 'AI' Lightnings that Alphasim included with their latest Lightning packs. As I haven't got them I can't say for sure how easy on the fps they are. If Alphasim release them as freeware, or indeed already have, let me know and I will check them out.

Alphasim did indeed release an "AI" version of their Lightning, but it is based directly on their main model (Like the A-6, B-52 etc.) and you could use any of the models from the three packs, making the necessary changes in the cfg file and deleted the unwanted textures (VC etc).

It weighs in at 1 LOD at 33378 polygons and the 15.9 mb texture folder contains 41 texture maps - not what I would consider ideal AI conditions - well, not on my clockwork machine anyway!

Oh, and it's still payware......for the moment.....

i did a quick 100sqn from Wyton texture on Paul Foster's Canberra, the texture layout wasn't the best to work with, but the out come was ok.

There is an RAF Binbrook package with No5 & 11 Sqdn Mk6 Lightnings available, I think that I got them off of Flight Sim.

It is a really awesome Lightning but he prefers to work on things that are still flying! Go figure?!

The Lightning is still flying at Thunder City ;-), so is a Buccaneer.
Still have one flying Vulcan in the UK (finally).

Just ran into a few problems with the Lightnings skinny wings and the main landing gear, (I will eventually get back to it).

You would be well suprised with the number of unfinished (for one reason or another) projects. After a long break from FSDS I always start back by doing a test model just to get my eye back in, some may see the light of day sometime.

Plus the 'new' Eagles. Look at signature.

Anyway, one day - (along with a Hunter also most likely)

I did use that very case with Nick for the Buccaneer, but he never bit on it.

I know the clamour for current jets will always be prevalent by I like and use the historic types for airfields that have also bit the dust. A dream is to have FGR2s from Wattisham and Wildenrath, Lightnings from Binbrook and Gutesloh and Buccs from Honington and Laarbruch. Of course the Tin Triangle from Scampton goes without saying. I won't mention black things from Mildenhall. :D

I shall just have to be patient and see what occurs.
