I mistyped in my last post. That should have read over 1 Terabyte of external storage for under $150. Sorry.
I understood the suggestion as a "here's a hardware solution to your losing data problem". That's no longer my issue for the most part. After I came out of the hospital, my family and friends insisted on updating and automating my backup hardware and procedures. So, that's been taken care of - if I lose anything due to hardware failure now, it's 30 minutes or less to a complete restoration of over 1 terabyte of data.
With over 50GB of installed non-default FSX scenery, aircraft and data objects, I am pretty comfortable with the current setup.
As noted before, my issue now has to do with "gray matter functionality loss". "Losing" an Excel file or Access database (system) now is more likely because I have forgotten how to make it work as opposed to literally losing or corrupting the file.

Please see new thread under Scenery Projects.
I have decided to jump in with both feet and try and develop a scenery package for KHOP of the same quality as what some others have been able to provide (e.g., John Stinstrom).
If this works I will move on to develop other Army Airfields all the while trying to keep them as MAIW friendly as possible.
Thanks to one and all for your comments and encouragement...
