Hello!
I got your files and already had some plans I found somewhere, so I do have some Indian fighters on my FS.
Do you know if there are other afcads for Indian bases around the web? And where can I find the MiG-23s and the Jaguars?

I think my MiG-23s are framerate hogs not designed with ai in mind, by Kazunori Ito.
Its possible I found them on Simviation if the main two libraries don't cough up.
The Jaguars are NBAI models, with a paint started by Kevin Jarvis and developed further into two amateur versions by my own fair mouse. As such, they are not entirely my own work (far from it), but if you ask KJ nicely and its ok with him, then its ok by me to share them with you.

I have only released one Indian afcad, for Pune/Lohegaon AFS (VAPO). I have modified a few more, but as they're not entirely my own work I can't publicly share them. Pm me. To be honest though, everything could do with some ADE9X attention. If you download Jan Martin's "Jetways and Terminals for a Century of Flight" (or something like that) from Avsim? then there is an ok VIDP Delhi/Palam AFS included. I have done a fairly detailed Afcad for this airfield, but its set in 2007, so I have de-activated the new southern runway to simulate it in its latter stage of being built. I intend to do an up-to-date version.

Other than that I just loked on Avsim, searching for anything to do with India.

Thanks for the info! I'll ask Kevin for the Jaguars.
BTW, they just released an Indian AF Il-76 for the trafficsystem.ru model!

Thanks for the heads up!

I've been waiting for something to replace my meandering Indian Air Force ai model for some time. I hope it flys [flies?] ok...

Ask Kevin for permission, but I'm guessing you'll want my version of the repaint as I took it a bit further along its path of development (unless Kevin has also done the same since he shared with me). I only say you need to ask him for permission because what I have done is just slightly modify his work, and in theory he retains rights over what happens to it.

You're welcome!
Kevin answered and will mail the paints to me when he finds them.

I"m sorry to say that I don't have these textures any more.
Anyone who has the textures that I modified please feel free to share. I had permission from the original author so I'm sure he won't mind either.

No worries Kevin, I have already done so.

Thanks a lot.

By the way, would you like the paints yourself? Or have you moved on to ai pastures new?

Of course I would like to use any repaints you have.

send to kjarvis001(at)gmail(dot)com

I still dabble in AI just not of the military variety at the moment.

Thanks,
KJ

OK, I've been playing with photoshop now:

I have given K2900 her civil insignia and reg, and made her much dirtier than K2899. VT-ENR now has roundels on the engines, and a small flag next to the door. AN-32s have their regs now, and a first appearance of the civilian marked Learjets and King Airs (I am still hoping for a proper painter to do these).
Image

Individually reg'd Do-228s
Image

Same for the HAL/Hs.748s. Do you like my polished metallic finishes?
Image

Same for the Embraer tails (upper four tails, lower two are 737s)
Image

Individual names for the Embraers (sorry for the early morning light)
Image

Looking past the Mil Mi-8s toward the Border Security Force ramp, as an Indigo A320 lines up on runway 27.
Image

My BSF HAL/Hs.748s now have their markings (this one is VT-EAT). Alongside Anirudh's lovely BSF ERJ-135.
Image

VT-EAV and VT-EHL
Image

ARC Apron
Image

White AN-32s of ARC only have "INDIAN AIR FORCE" on rhs of fuselage. No Hindi on lhs.

B200 VT-EPA and B707 K2900

More shiny metal at Hindon

Note the Indian Air Force insignia on H1181s nose

ARC tails. Note the different markings of the 707s, including K2900s black nose cone. The 707s also have white engines now.

Hey Dan,

there is a thread about the active Caribous over at the AIG forums. Not sure if the IAF ones are still in service. Do you have more precisely information on this?

I think they were retired as long ago as 1987! Certainly they are not active today, although a squadron is still named after them.

Afew more shots to whet your appetites. I have tried to include some that also show off the work I've put into the ADE AFD file for VIDP. They're not the best shots though...

Visiting PAI USAF C17s
Image

Thanks to Mark Walsh, I now have correct reg marks for the grey An-32s. Here is K3058 of the ARC.
Image

Indian Air Force B737-700 K5013 departing rwy27 VIDP. These aircraft are sometimes used as the Indian equivalent of Air Force 1.
Image

Note the underwing reg's and their opposing text orientation.

K5013 lift off
Image

Hs.748 H-2379 of Central Air Command HQ, visiting Air Force HQ at Palam AFS. Insignia aft of nose is Central Air Command badge.
Image

Image

H-1179 and H-915 now have AHQCS roundel on left side of nose.

Some general shots of the airfield layout:

The new rwy 11/29

The apron area on this side of the runway is known as the "Technical Area". Visiting foreign leaders also use this apron. Google Earth has Air Force 1 from the USA in one of it's aerial images parked here.
Image

Domestic Satellite Apron
Image

International Apron
Image

I put a lot of effort into trying to make the twy surface textures display how I wanted them to. All the buildings have been adjusted as well.
Image

Image

I think there is a fire station situated here.
Image

Storage apron, Air Sahara and hangers for IAL Airbus A300 (or was it 320?). Cargo apro further on.
Image

My snazzy little trick: rwy 28 departures from more than one intersection, to emulate real world ops at Delhi.
Image

I redid the runway rapid exit lanes south of rwy 10/28. The ai traffic didn't like the old ones, and the new ones are more accurately formed.
Image

New taxiway layout for the domestic satelite apron, with the old taxiways still showing.

etc. etc.
