very nice scenery indeed, although i must say you need to add 4 'hold short' for the afcad to work as it should.

Unfortunately the FSTerminal page is in german only. But the desctiptinon says this is the release candidate and they are stillupdating the scenery. It might make sense to point your findings out to them and maybe motivate them to include some more parking spots to accomodate your Typhoons. To me this would look like the perfect complement.

I've noticed that airplanes do not land at LOXZ, probably because the airport is too close to the mountains.
I try to have a look in ADE9X (Approach mode) but it's too complicated and/or too long to learn for me.
Is there someone who is working on it?
Regards, Giorgio

Hi Bismarck,
You are not going mad, it is an issue that I discovered for LOXZ as well. In my early attempts I also found out that you can't have VFR flights to the base either, as a high percentage will fly into the mountains. Its an issue that I am still trying to figure out.

Oh...probably is for this that a "MAIW Austrian Typhoon package" is not coming out yet...

Hope a solution could be found.

Hi!
I never had any problems with IFR or VFR Appr. to LOXZ with my AI-Traffic. Standard rwy is 26, so close rwy 08 with AFCAD or ADE for all starts and landings, this is close to the real procedures for IFR appr. to Zeltweg Airbase, which starts at MILGO. Right hand traffic circuits for IFR and VFR proceed close over the northern mountains, but will not fly into.
Flights to LOWL/LOXL leave to the north, to LOWG/LOXL via "Gaberl" as in real.
Greetings

Hi Günter,
Thats useful to know and that info is appreciated.
The problem that I have is that some people have problems with the airfield so I have to find a solution that works for all. Now can you tell me if the solution that you use is a personal decision or is it what the Austrian AF actually use?
Also do you have any info on the C-130s approaches and departures to that airbase?
The reason that I ask is that the airfield info that I can find online has that both 08 and 26 can be used.

Servus Steve,
If I´ll get some "inside" informations, I´ll post it here as soon as possible. The IFR Charts are not published for Civil Aviation, so it will take some time.
So, if you didn´t hear from me in the next weeks, I´m under arrest because of betraying military secrets

.
For your information:
Trainings flight will take place only from Mo - Fr, 0800LOC - 2000LOC, night trainings flights for all aircrafts will take place on Tu and Th until 2200LOC.
The Herks proceed T&G´s during the week, overnight stays are very rarely. Their homebase is LOWL/LOXL.
To 99% Rwy26L (26R is the grass-rwy) is in use. IFR-flights will be lead from Zeltweg Appr. to MILGO (N 47 18.06, E015 05.30) and than via Precision Approach Radar (PAR) straight to LOXZ, this is what FS9 does nearly by itself.
If you need any informations, please contact me.
Greetings from Styria
Günter

Outstanding, Günter.
Wonderfully useful info there which I will put to use.
As for the 'inside' info all I need is when would they use 08R? Wind conditions?

Hi Steve,
they use 26L most of the time, even with some tailwind.
Only this rwy is equipped with an approach lighting system (MALSR ?) and PAPI as far as i know.
