Hi Dan,

Just a thought, and I've no idea if it would work, but is it worth raising the elevation of the scenery again, just by a ramdom small amount? I would do it but my attempt in ADE9X stripped out all the scenery, leaving just the aprons/runways. I don't really know enough about sceneries to correct this, but if the original scenery producer had a go then I it would work. Might help the other guy with the floating AI as well maybe..? Thanks for doing this one by the way. I just need to sort out some Dutch F-16 AI now. Just curious, but does Leeuwarden have control tower as I can't find it and have never been there.

I'll try upping the elevation by 5m and you'll have too tell me if it works

If it does have one it's well hidden. I also have never been there and just going by what i can see on google earth and a few shots from google.

It's located here:

Set airport altitude to 4.42 meters, no more floating aircrafts.

Gents,

Thanks for where the tower is, I wondered if that was it after having a look on google earth. Not being disrespectful to the scenery developer, but as that didn't look like a tower in the scenery I assumed it was a water tower or something else. I tried it with the 5m elevation, the AI was still ok but I think it may have just been the runway elevation that was altered (I'm guessing though), as the runway texture was elevated into the sky, probably about the 5m mentioned. Perhaps a airfield alteration to the 4.42 mentioned above. Sorry to be a pain!

I just realised that Volkel is blanked out on google earth, although Leeuwarden isn't - strange.

If you look on google earth all of the major dutch bases are blanked out except Leeuwarden and Eindhoven which is civvie.
I'll upload the new one with the tower as soon as i find an appropriate one to use.

Dan why don't you make one version for default FS with air base altitude set on 1,2m and RWY altitude set on 1,25m?

cheers

The last version on page 1 is for the default fs. why would the runway be higher than the rest of the base?

sometimes that is only way to avoid that RWY disappear on approach as on the first page. But to be honest i didn't check first version of your airport so i can't be sure in this 100 % :)

I still have floating RWY
and I think that problem is because default airport is on 1,2m

There is a flatten file in the first version. don't know if it'll work or not. if not just let me know and i'll try to change the rwy alt.

If that is this file Leeuwarden_LWM2 i have it but RWY still float. As I said try altitude from default airport.Do you have maybe some mesh or FS Europe in your system?

If have no mesh or ute on my system. i did have nl2000 v2 but have long since stripped that out. I think this interfered with the default alt. I can do a version where the rwy is a bit higher but someone will have to tell me how to do this. I have found a tower that is sort of similar and will probably upload another version with the tower and a few added buildings tomorrow.

if I understood you about RWY you only need to put alt on properties the same as default airport and then in RWY properties you also have field for altitude here you can set on the same alt or a bit higher.Your first version had alt 0m i think because of that RWY disappeared on approach.I think that ADE don't wave options to set different alt for RWYs so you need only to set alt of airport like in default airport and ADE will do the rest :)

that's the thing my default airport reads the alt at 0m. There is a box which states the alt of the rwy but doesn't allow you to edit it.

As promised another update with added twr and buildings, the alt is set at 3.42 mts. Sorry for the delay. If anyone can't use winrar then PM me i'll send via that instead.

Thanks Dan, appreciate you staying with this and updating it. I think I found a way of getting everything at the right height - on my set up anyway. I added another AFCAD to the system with the runway elevated slightly which takes away the peeling runway, but doesn't raise the runway textures above ground level. I realise having two active AFCAD's for the same airport should cause parking and taxiing problems but that hasn't actually happened, and all AI movement appears to be behaving normally so I'll take it!

Hi,

is this compatible with the modular version of NL2000 for FSX ?

I did some work on the supplied AFX for EHLW myself, but if this one works, I may give it a spin .....
