Andy,
just send you an email. Good you looked in here.
Project update:
Got some time today. 13 of 43 FPs finished. 6 more almost done (copy, paste, copy, paste, slightly alternate

)
Edit:
Received some more tactical IDs which increases the number of aircraft to 59. Now I can enclude more exercise movements/maneuvers, e.g. Landivisiau (France), Bodo&Andoya(both Norway), etc. I received some detailed information on some movements, too.

Hi Andy,
great work ! But the MFG1 color scheme is wrong. Take a look at airliners.net and look for the oldest pics of the Tornado of the German Navy. You will see that they have a different color scheme with a white "belly". For the MFG2: its like they never disappeared !
Thanks for this beautiful repaint !

This comes from a site about MFG1

Cant see the white there? Looks like a normal 3-tone one.
I am doing this one though, which might be what your thinking of

Hi Andy,
interesting. But I have found some more pics of the Navy Tornadoes on that site. I took a closer look: they are from the MFG2. Here:

is a real MFG1 Tornado - or better two
That one at airliners.net you named is the right scheme.
Cheers

Yep thats the one he his thinking of, the original scheme. I think the original airfix kit called it dark sea grey, or maybe extra dark, and light silver grey if I remember correctly, somewhat showing my age there

Steve,
could you be interested for beta testing my FPs when the first stage is done ?

I would be honoured, sir. Especially as when I was on 56 sqn we did a sqn exchange at ETME, when you still had F-104G's, and a nice time we had too.

forget about the "sir"
I was at Eggebek 1996-2000. The only F104s I have seen (in flying condition) were in Decimomannu when the Greeks operated the same time as we did on that base. I knew then were George Lukas got his spaceship sounds

I think it was 1983 when we took our FGR2's out to MFG2. Good fun was had by all. We even got to go out on one of the, then, new German Navy fast patrol boats and be a target in the Baltic. We were told a story about a 'mod' that we had on board, we had a good laugh, sure enough an East German Corvette followed us, we laughed a lot more. 40kts+ that boat could do, impressive stuff.
Oh and the flying was great fun, too.

If I was older that time it could have been me on that East German Corvette as I lived in East Germany until a month before the Wall came down. But I was in the third grade at school.

I am glad that this happened because I could visit all my friends I left behind and I could join the Navy at Eggebek.
Btw: your last post gave me the opinion that you have been a pilot in that time. Is that true ?

No my trade was actually in Air Traffic Control, but I never actually worked in a tower. I worked in Wing Ops and Sqn Ops.
I learnt very quickly though that the only way that they won't give you a flight, is if you don't ask. I asked for plenty, got turned down very often, but got more than my fair share in all sorts of wonderful aircraft. The FGR2 being my favourite, the best flying machine was the Hawk, but the most atmospheric being a trip in the Lancaster.

I know the Avro Lancaster and the BAe Hawk (aint there an acrobatic team in the RAF using this a/c ? Think, I got this as a model when I wa a child.). But what was the FGR2 ? Is it the F4-Phantom ? We call it: Ölofen -"oil oven" because of the smoke. It has got nice engine sounds. I never had a chance to get a flight with a military jet aircraft. When we moved to other bases like Goose Bay or Roosevelt Roads some of our guys were invited by american pilots to have a seat in the back. Unfortunatly I have never been to those bases. I was told one of the best impression you could get is flying low level following the creeks in Canada. But you have to watch out for the so called "ghost trees". They suddenly appear in front of you and are taller then the surrounding ones. Bad crashes happened before. We lost an a/c, too, over there.

Did you paint that one in since my last message to you ??? How do you do that so fast ??? Great repaint !!! This is/was the MFG1 scheme. I have found a website where it might be possible to extract some FPs from the chronicles. But first I would like to finish the MFG2 pack.

Hi
I would recommend you download TTOOLS Companion from AVSIM. Its a good tool for checking plans. It picks up alot of basic errors and gives a good overview of the plans...I use it on all mine now (after the CAF Errors)
Remember with TNG the four minute rule between legs...
Remember IFR TNG go Missed (They do not land)
Remember VFR TNG Land/Stop/takeoff
With TTOOLS Companion It does not read TNG legs so u have to remove them from the flightplan file before u put them into it
REMEMBER to Backup the Flightplan FIRST!!!
Cheers

Hey Barry,
I have heard about that tool before. Usually I use AITM for checking my FPs. I did not know that IFR TNG will go missed. I need to check that. Depending on the visual appearance I may decide to have IFR TNG. I have seen many "almost TNGs" on our base. They did not touch down to safe tire lifetime. Anyway, nice tips. Thank you !
Does anyone know about the flight levels military aircraft use when doing a long distance flight ? Do they follow the civilian rules for FLs ?

Project update:
Having found 59 registrations so far
Set destinations for all aircraft
Movements to about 60 airports in 22 different countries
13 FPs of 59 done
First aircrafts that will fit into these plans have been repainted as you can see above - thank Andy.
