Hi Jim, tried to use your flightplan-PUMA_NORTH_SEA.rar but nothing comes up.that's why I asked for a FS9 flightplan if possible.Sorry if I seem to be an idiot but never used a file rar before.

Uses Aberdeen, Humberside, Norwich, Sumburgh,Scatsta, Inverness and Wick.
Destinations are the oil/gas rigs in the North Sea (loosely) based on the real-time schedules.
This initial stab is for a 7 day weekly flying prog, every day the same. It's a bit unrealistic as the flypro for the weekends tends to be just 1 or 2 flights a day.
The oilrig desigs are as per the ODG packages, hopefully with an updated voicepack available soon.
Don't hesitate to comment on any errors/bugs and I'll hopefully manage to get them sorted out.
As per real-time Aberdeen between 0700 and 0900 is very busy, so there may be some probs in the ATC comms.

Hopefully I'll have something out for the Icelandic Coast Guard fairly shortly.
I think I may have found a error in your flightplans. There are two AC#9's (both are G-VINM) in the plans and G-REDT was not included. In the aircraft txt there is no number 8 aircraft so I made one of the G-VINM plans to G-REDT and changed the AC# to 8.
PS: Thank you for these (and the coast guard) plans

Many thanks to you all for these fantastic models, repaints and flightplans!
I hope UK2000 Aberdeen is not too far away, to complete the North Sea experience.
I'm going to drop this in here, in the hope that some erudite person can think of an explanation:
https://youtu.be/gHrhW1GvO9U
The Puma has
NEVER taken off in my sim, never mind the airport or any other influencing factors I could think of, including taxi speed.
As you see, the JYAI Osprey has no such problem.
What could it possibly be?
The only visible difference I could see, is that the Puma ignores the hold short.
Does this then fail to execute an XML trigger?
Whatever, I am totally without clue.
Any ideas?

Charl,
I am assuming that they are both using the same afcad.
I would be happy to investigate for you but I would need the following from to try and recreate your experience.
1. The afcad you are using.
2. The traffic file(s) that you are using for those flights.
3. The aircraft.cfg from the V-22 used in that clip.
4. The aircraft.cfg from the Puma used (and details of the exact model used)
If you would like me to look into the issue for you could you zip those files up and pm them to me. If you could also give me details of the times of the flights and the flight numbers.
I think that should be sufficient to at least begin.

OK problem fixed. Try the afcad attached.
First I altered the plans so that the V-22 and the AS332 were planned together.
Then I loaded up and it worked first time.
What I did notice was that both aircraft used taxiway A to get to the runway, presumably for the prevailing wind. I noticed that the hold short for Taxiway B was facing the wrong way, as were a couple of others. I altered them to face the correct way and re-checked for both wind directions. No problems.
I would assume that the chopper was always using taxiway B.
What I would suggest for your afcad is that you alter the size of the parking spots for BHL as they are too small for the Puma in FS9. They are 10m and need to be 13m.
Also, and this is purely esthetic , you should take out your centre line markings on your apron links on the runway. It would look far more pleasing. I didn't change either of these things as it did not affect the operation.
Let me know if this fixes your problem or not.

Nope.
As I mentioned, this happens at any airport, so is not AFCAD-specific.
The reason I chose Humberside for the test, is that others have reported NO Problem with the Puma there.
So it is going to be a system setting in my sim.
I think it will take some knowledge of the XML used in the FDE to figure out why the Osprey works in my sim, and the Puma does not.
I appreciate your having a look, Steve.

The xml can be ruled out as it has nothing to do with it. That is purely a cosmetic touch to the mdl.
The fact is the Puma and Osprey anims are linked to the throttle setting once cleared for take off. So your V-22 is cleared and your Puma is not. Looking at your video the Puma seems to be trying to find the runway link and can't.
This was why I needed your actual cfgs and your actually afcad for my investigation.
The first thing I did was check the aircraft.cfg of the puma with the one I have in my system and that was fine. I thought that maybe an error had screwed up the fde.
I can't actually think of a reason why it should work fine on every FS9 system but yours. The only thing I can think of is to rename your fs9.cfg to fs9_saved.cfg and let FS9 rebuild a new one. See if that makes a difference. If it works then use a compare program and start copying your deliberate mods back and see what is left.
This is how I found what was causing the FS9 black screen, when in full screen mode, under Windows 10.
I did find another thing in that your runway is broken there is a runway link section missing. I am assuming that you did that deliberately but it took off fine on my system anyway.

I will have to go to Hummberside and watch these helicopters. I have been to the airport and saw them parked, but never stayed long enough to see if they actually take off.
(I have seen the other Puma/Cougar helicopter models take off successfully)

I have not had trouble with Humberside myself. I do know that the Pumas need a slightly longer runway in the sim. The old Pumas
needed a fair bit of space to go through transition, this is depicted quite well but then it uses more runway in the sim.
If an aircraft misses a hold short, in my experience, it will not take off.
Charl, have you customised the parameters in your simulator?
John

Ok I checked and the Pumas/Cougars at Humberside do take off in my sim. I checked both the default AFCAD that came with the scenery and the one Steve posted. (I am a FS9 user and use UK2000 scenery for Humberside)

If an aircraft misses a hold short, in my experience, it will not take off.
I suspect the truth, if it ever emerges, will be directed by that observation...
I let the sim create a new FS9.cfg file: no effect
I substituted the Stemme .air file: no effect
I replaced the entire aircraft.cfg with the exception of contact points, with the Stemme one: no effect
I removed everything from the Modules folder that wouldn't cause a sim crash: no effect.
Maybe there's something in my Southern Hemisphere settings causing this!
Thanks for all the comments, one day I will build a new sim and no doubt all will be well.
For now, I will again consign the Puma to Flight1's Helo package, and live with VTOL as a fact of life.

Any takers for FPS for French Air Force and French Army? I can provide aircraft.cfg as it's ready.

Not totally up to speed on my Pumas/Cougars etc.
Are these a replacement for the MAIW_NBMK_French_Pumas package from 2013?
