Re: My Flightplans

Post by paul day »

Is anyone having problems with the AFCAD for DAAK. There are two of them in this thread and both of them are populated with trees and buildings so i believe i need an exclude for DAAK. I am still having problems with the Algerian Il-76 but i have just loaded the new Algerian C-130 flightplans and they work fine if i remove the complete Il-76 package. Thanks in advance.

Regards Paul Day.
P.S I am using FS2004

James,

Have you ever had errors and Rip's generator crash on you when compiling flightplans. I've been trying to make some plans, but I think the problem is that I have alot of airports (about 55 or more) listed in the Destination List. When I run it, it gives me an error. I see you have done many plans, just wondered if you ever had this type of issue.

Dave, which kind of error are you experiencing?
Maybe Excel tells you that the macros are not active?

It first gives me a "Run time error 5', invalid procedure call or argument. Then when I click on the Debug button, it's highlighting the line which says "tmpMindec = Mid(tmpLonstr, tmpi1 + 1, tmpi2 - tmpi1 - 1)" Looks like there's some ICAO that it doesn't like.

Maybe the ICAO you inserted have wrong coordinates: get them from the FS_Airports sheet in the RPP compiler.xls file!

That's kind of what I was thinking, probably it was because it's one of the 'special' ones for the weapons waypoints

Well, it was a couple of waypoints I had created, didn't like any of them. And I learned how to troubleshoot this thing. I got it to work fine with things now, thanks James ;)

Indiana ANG A-10 for Mark's new repaints. This time I spent a bit more time to make them a bit more accurate than my previous releases and applied the semicircular rule to determine the flight levels... feedback is welcome as usual of course

That's excellent my friend! Good to see you're eager to learn.

I will have a look at them later today.

It is a rule used to determine the flight level in order to improve separation:
-the aircrafts flying routes heading between 0° and 180° use odd flight level
-the ones flying 180°-360° use even flight levels

IFR flying is carried out at multiples of 1000 (10.000ft-11.000ft). FL with 500 (9.500ft, 10.500ft etc) are for VFR flying.
In this case all the aircrafts fly IFR, there is a separation of 100ft (30 meters) and 5 seconds if they fly together.
I also used lower levels for short routes.
It's a bit tedious but not difficult at all!

Thanks for the comment! It will be useful if I manage to become an ATC (I'll know it in May)!

Thanks!
I have taken the written test for ENAV in 2008 and failed. I tried again in March 2010 and succeeded. The second stage was in October 2010 and the last candidates should be interviewed by the end of March.
At the beginning they said we would get the final result "not before April", but people writing on some forums who have taken part in the second stage recently have been told they would get the results in May.
By my calculations 380-400 persons have passed the first stage, although the staff said only 300, 60% of which would be admitted to the ATC Academy in Forlì (close to Bologna).
I'm 27, I had enough time to get a second level degree (AKA "Master of Arts") in Economics and to get in touch with the "real" world and experience a job. I would be compelled to leave my city, family and friends and start a new life to take a 1-1,5-year long course, but becoming an ATC would be the best achievement of my life!
I don't mind about the seven years it took to get the degree, it will definitely be worth the game also because Italian neo-graduates are not experiencing a good time.
If I fail... I'll always be doing my best!

Thank you so much, Daryl!
Yes, I WANT to work in the aviation. I know I'm not a youngster anymore, but aviation is something I love, and I have a deep knowledge about it, so I hope I'll be able to get a job in an airport one day. I don't know whether or not I have the capabilities to do a job as difficult as the ATC, but flightsimming has helped me much and allowed me to learn a lot of things, and above all to improve my English skills.
Last year I had the luck to experience -TWICE!!! -both taxiing, take-off and landing in the cockpit of a 777 and see how this system actually works. I liked it. Too much! I hope I'll be part of it one day!

Don't forget to study HARD ,REALLY HARD ! You can get a headstart by studying your identifiers .Know them ,both ground and aircraft, by heart . During the course there'll be a tonne of sh#t thrown at you to study ! Basically they want to know if you can retain all that stuff .
The course is designed to build up to a culminating point (at least here in North America ) the famous IFR evaluations/simulations . You can cut the tension with a knife during this period !! 300 candidates going into the course !I guarantee that # will be whittled down very fast ! There isn't enough room for 300 successfull graduates to go into training in all of Europe !!! Go to your local ATC unit and be a regular visitor and show your interest . Ask their advise RE: the course . This will really help you out for the course in May.DON'T worry about your language skills !! I reallly mean this ,if you've passed the interviews you've already shown you've got the necessary language skills. After the course and when you've started on the job training, if you show that you have the skills , controllers WILL help you out . I guarantee that during the course you WILL fuckup badly .DON'T dwell on it and repeat to yourself " tomorrow is another day " that is also part of the course ( to see how one can live with the consequence of their actions ) When you do finally checkout as an ATC ,Greg asnd I'll fly in for the celebration :smt002 :smt004
