Yes Steve, I'm really looking forward to finishing these off. I now have the 75sqn badge for the tail however I still can't find any usable information on which aircraft belonged to what Sqn and how many were attached.

Secretive lot the Kiwi's.

I still have a few camo colours for OZ and Kiwi to tackle but I'm not in rush for them as I need to get some custom scenery development out of the way.

If it wasn't for other flight plan developers at the Vista Australis website for Australian scenery, I wouldn't have got around to having them flying in my sim, like so many others that I've repainted. I must take the time and get the others flying.

I understand that feeling completely.

You never know, if our resident serial killer, Marco, reads this he might be able to help out. What he has been able to find out in the past has been amazing.
Wouldn't want to make a promise that he couldn't keep though.

There has been so much interest and help offered on these repaints it has been amazing and I thank eveybody for getting involved, it really does make a difference and hopefully the end product will be to your liking.

Anybody would think that your all Kiwi's, no you can't be, they all live in Australia.

I've often found that the little things are what puts the icing on the cake so I'm happy for people to tell me when I've got it wrong, just don't say it to loudly. Just kidding, it all fun and games.

Thank's again,

Mark

This at present time this is a one off repaint for 75sqn in 1985 Kiwi colours. Not sure what to do with it at this stage as it may clash with the 2001 dark green colour scheme which was the last colour that they were seen in before being disbanded.

Might be a bit of a nitpick, but the kiwi roundel should always be facing forward. Unless you have seen a picture of it otherwise which would have been an error by the painters!
Otherwise they look great!

Good eyes mkek, you are right. That's the problem you have with burning the midnight oil to many nights in a row. It's also a good reason to others tlook over your work and to post screenies before releasing them to the world.

Thanks for your help.

Personally I am more interested in the dark green but I am sure there are folks out there who would love the mid 80's one.

I also like the dark grey/green cammo but as far as I am concerned all repaints are welcome.

To tell you the the truth, I really dislike the mid 80's repaint. For some reason it just dosn't suit the model in FS. I have used Grahames website source for the colours with some slight adjustment to the saddle tone and it just dosn't look anything like in the photos that I have. The Admiralty grey looks more like it belongs on an airfix plastic model than on the real thing in this case.

I don't know quite what to do with it. Perhaps a Kiwi member might be able to shed some light on it and take it off my hands.
I still haven't settled on the Aussie two tone repaints either. I have a friend who lives near Nowra, and often does a bit of work on the base and he is going to takes some pic's for me of the U.S. A-4B on loan to the musiuem on base that is made up to look like the G-model RAN.

I for one wish you luck with the colour matching. Really like what you have done so far, count me in for the 80's schemes once you're happy with them...

Retro all the way !!

As far as I'm aware the aircraft were only in those colours briefly after purchase from the RAN before they got around to repainting them to the RNZAFs own colours. Initially they were the brown/green camo, followed by the grey/green camo, then eventually the all over green.
Of course there is always the golden T-bird skyhawk for the 50th anniversary airshow!

Can't take it off your hands sorry, I have no idea at all what I'd be doing...

Thanks for the info mikek, that means that my reading research was correct after all and green model was the last paint scheme.
There is some debate as to tail markings, some infomation paoints to the SQN markings being 75 sqn on one side while 2 Sqn appeared on the other due to the aircraft constantly being used by both Sqn's.
I'm confused about this and its slowling things up.

Yes, I believe that they did have the 75sqn badge on one side and 2sqns on the other. This was only later in life and possibly only once they went to the overall green. I could be mistaken in terms of the timings though and it may have been earlier or later and not related to the overall green scheme.

Guys I'm gonna move this over to the "Your Packages" forum as it's turned into that kind of topic with all of these great repaints. Also I will amend the title to reflect the thread's topic.
