That's looking great - real dirty!

Does anyone know of a reasonably up-to-date resource detailing the aircraft inventory of the Indian Air Force Head Quarter's Communication Squadron aka Pegasus, also the 41 Squadron aka Otters, and finally the Air Research Centre Research and Analysis Wing. All have aircraft based at VIDP Delhi/Palam AFS.

I am also interested, if anyone knows, where these various units are based. So far it seems to me that the Pegasus Squadron and the Otters operate from the military enclosure on the North East perimeter of Delhi airport, and the Air Research Centre from the South East apron of the old airport (ie. pre 2008/9 Southern expansion and new rwy 11/29 infrastructure), near the rwy 28 threshold.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Cheers...

By all means, if you know them. I'm currently trying to compile a list... I'll send you what I've got so far, plus some additional requests that would flesh a package out nicely. Email inbound

hi,
overwhelmed ?
i need an adjective that is far more intense to describe the way i am feeling

no problem , anything for ya .
Also, a rare view of the aircraft of the IAF Air Research Centre, including the B707 and Gulfstream aircraft used for ELINT:

http://www.ruudleeuw.com/delhi09.htm

Again, you can see a poor image of a Border Security Force Hs.748.
the link did not work , could you retype it here ?

are you sure there some white an-32s ? i thought Kevin painted all of them grey.

metallic textures hope ?

hope i learn them this time .

thank you for your effort .

K2708, Antonov An-32 (c/n 503) of the Indian Air Force has a white/light grey livery like the ones in the links to Airliners.net. There is a photo of the Aviation Research Centre apron taken in January this year showing this aircraft as such, but unfortunately its in the link that you are having trouble with. As are the other interesting possibly spy/ELINT aircraft in their fleet (Gulfstream, B707).

By the way, it works for me as you have posted it. :?: Not sure why you can't get to it, perhaps the Indian Govt. has banned access!

Sorry about that... and don't worry about hitting them all at once - I'm just putting forward my favourites as they will make a nice package :)

EDIT to add: According to Bharat-Rakshak.com "Quite a few An-32s seem to have survived in the two-tone paint scheme of earlier years. " Perhaps Kevin didn't paint all 110 odd An-32s? I have some repaints by Mark Walsh (from Avsim), but these are only of dark grey colour, with regs from K2750 to K2781.

Looks like you might not need the mtallic texture skills just yet:

Perhaps grey will suffice?

Its difficult to answer that question without seeing the original aircraft. I would imagine that the first thing you have to do is get the base colour(s) correct, be it metal, solver or white etc. Then generally speaking see if it looks right. My guess is that that needs to be toned down.
I don't know how painters do this but it might be better to start with a flat finish and slowly add the shine until its correct rather than the other way around.

Well w/o seeing the the original that doesn't look out of place or over the top so you've probably got it very close if not spot on.

The only thing definite that I have found is that a Gulfstream III is based at Palam, VT-ENR, and some sources that state that GIVs are in service but no numbers or info could be found on a quick sweep.

this is what Dan had sent me .
VT-ENR GULFSTREAM
K2961
K2962

it seems all of them are g3s , on comparing it with photos .

the thickness of the grey engine rims and exhausts suggests so .

thank you .
