Thankyou John, great work as ever. Earlier on, you'd mentioned a generic civilian variant. Did that one not make it? I suspect there might be too many variations for it to be really practicable.

I haven't yet made a generic version Jon. The base variations I have - fixed and retractable undercarriage, could probably make two models if I stripped out the military parts. At the moment I can't get the paint kit into .PSD format. Once I've cracked that I can consider a generic package. Did you have a specific example in mind?

John,
If you were to go ahead, G-INFO shows the A109E to be the most numerous variant on the UK register, and it's been used for example by Qinetiq, examples being G-ETPI and G-ETPJ.

That's Ok - I think I would need to remove the sand filters, the cable cutters and some aerials, then add 3 additional seats. Painting by users won't be easy though, because that model is mapped top side and bottom so the wrap around Swedish camouflage could be painted. The Belgian (BA) is easier - that's mapped totally from the side apart from the nose number.

Has this one - Swiss Rega - been painted by any chance?

No, Martin the only ones painted are in the packages - Belgium, New Zealand and Sweden. Apart from the ski's and the winch, that looks like a different engine configuration. Quite a bit of work in that I would think.

I see. Will download the package today.
Do you remember if any of your helis has been painted with a red-white sani cross?

Thanks John for another beauty.
What about our initial discussion for Italian GdF an CC paint?
Are there someone interested in painting them?

There are so many A109 opportunities Giorgio, there's a limit on how many I want to make or paint. I'm going to move onto the Gazelle because I promised it to Miljan.

I have managed to re-jig my layered .PSP file so that it converts to .PSD format so other painters can use it. However I have a few concerns about releasing a paint kit:
The number of variations in a helicopter that has been in service for 40 years is considerable. I'm not sure that I can produce a "generic one". It night be better to work only with the few painters here and produce a bespoke model each time a paint is wanted, but it's a lot of work, especially for 3 sim versions.
The direction of the mapping on the "E" model is sides, top and bottom to cater for wrap around camouflage, like this:
I think the complex tail design on G-ETPI and G-ETPJ might prove difficult.
Painting the helicopter in itself has limited value until it can be put into the simulator. Boscombe Down, in this case, has no helicopter runway as far as I can see, but a grass strip or a section of taxiway might suffice. Is anyone prepared to research the available scenery and make the overlaid AFCAD and flight plan for the 3 sim versions?
Is the exercise worth it for just 2 helicopters? I can spend time on this or I can build a few hundred Gazelles.

When I worked at Boscombe Down in 2017 the helicopters were just towed out of the hanger and they took off vertically in a southerly direction.

John,
With so many variant possibilities, ultimately "generic" civilian can only mean exactly that, with a consequent loss of accuracy for any given sub type. Some can live with that, some not, personally I can. On the other hand, it's not worth the candle for two specific helicopters at Boscombe.
Meanwhile, I sense the pull of those Gazelles.

hello,
John you did a great job, as ever.
I installed augusta 109 and the Beauvechain scenery in P3D v4.5 and I have a little problem.
the EBBE Objects JYAI.bgl file has no texture (see attachments)
greetings
Patrick

Sorry about that. They were buried in all the texture files in the MAIW package that I didn't need to upload.
The missing files are in the attached zips. Steve has kindly injected them into the uploads.
